these are the 2* recruits
OLB Niemann now starting for the Chiefs along with LB Hitchens
MLB Jewell 1st Team AA starter for the Bronco's
CB Jackson 1st Team AA starter for the Packer's
TE Hockenson AP 1st Team AA Mackey Award winner
KF is not going to suddenly forget how to develop players. the 19 class is a 3.0 on a 5.0 scale.

yes Hockenson just declared for the draft. but just to remind you Hockenson was just a lil ol 2*. who after just 3 years left as a 1st Team AA and Mackey Award winner who was coached by Brian Ferentz who was the former TE Coach for the NE Patriots.

do you really think there is nobody to take Fant or Hockensons place? WR Brandon Smith as a true FR had 5 catches for 25 yards then as a true so had 28 catches for 361 yards
Smith-Marsette who was a backup had 23 catches for 361 yards
1st year player JUCO RB Sargeant led the team in rushing with 159 carries for 745 yards, Sargeant was a JUCO 1st Team AA who did arrive at Iowa until June of last summer, hmm only 3 months on campus before the 1st game and he leads the team in rushing.

QB Stanley passed for 2437 yards in his 1st season with GF in his 1st season as the OC/TE Coach finishing 59th amongst QB's
2nd season stats. 2852 yards finishing 40th amongst QB's

nice improvement from 59th to 40th. the OL had 3 1st year starters in the middle, Ferguson was a former walk on
Render was a 3*
Reynolds was a 3*
their replacements [possible]
LT RSJR Jackson [named a FR AA]
LG RSSR Landon Paulson [4* by Scout
C RSFR Linderbaum [US Army AA]
RG RSSR Levi Paulson [4* by Scout]
RT JR Wirfs [4* US Army AA]

the OL is bigger and better on paper than it has bsince the 2009 Orange Bowl team that went 11-2 with a BCS Bowl win.

Hey Iowa guy...

Right now our class(including Bland) has 25 commits

1 = 6.0
3 = 5.9
5 = 5.8
7 = 5.7
7 = 5.6
2 = 5.5

We are probably going to get

Njoku - 5.8
Pola Gates - 5.9
Pola Mao - 5.8
Soni - 5.7

That would make our Top 20 recruits

1 = 6.0
4 = 5.9
7 = 5.8
8 = 5.7

AVG recruit = 5.79

Nebraska lower rated 9 recruits

7 = 5.6
2 = 5.5

AVG recruit = 5.577

Let's compare that to Iowa (20 total commits)

4 = 5.7
8 = 5.6
8 = 5.5

AVG recruit= 5.58

Now please STFU!

To add to this for comparison sake. I took the Top 20 kids from the following schools to see what the average is. It is nice to see we are right there with the majority of the schools listed below!

Alabama and Georgia are head and shoulders ahead of every other school

Alabama - 5.92
Clemson = 5.835
Texas = 5.84
Florida = 5.8
Florida State = 5.76
Oklahoma = 5.85
Ohio State = 5.8
Michigan = 5.82
Oregon = 5.825
Georgia = 5.92
LSU = 5.82
Texas A&M = 5.855
Penn State = 5.84
USC = 5.77
Auburn = 5.81
Notre Dame = 5.78
Tennessee = 5.77

Now the Big 10 West

Nebraska = 5.79(Top 20 of 29)
Iowa = 5.58
Wisconsin = 5.67 (19 Total)
Purdue = 5.65 (Top 20 of 26)
Illinois = 5.6 (Only 12 recruits)
Indiana = 5.589 (19 Total)
Minnesota = 5.595 (Top 20 of 23)

Looks like every team in the West has a better average than Iowa even Illinois, but they only have 12 recruits so the jury is still out with them.

So get the F out of here with Iowa recruiting ****. You guys will never be better than average. In this years case it looks like you are BELOW average!
