With so many targets and so few spots,if Matt Pola Mao wants in does he? and who would get left out? I cant see them passing on him and pissing off his cousin NPG.

He said he wants to take an official visit with his cousin in 2 weeks. I doubt we would waste a visit if he didnt commit. Could be double good news.

Yes I see us taking 6.
Including Mills/Bland, I think that’s 30 if I’m counting right.

Mills, NPG, Cousin Matthew, Njoku, Dylan Jordan, Steven Parker, might be my top 6 with one if the DBs (I don’t have any opinion on those yet) as #7- not sure another DB is necessary.

I know Parker has big stats and a great frame, but I’m kind of digging Jordan’s upside a little more if we can only take one.

This means no Bland (which I’m starting to feel as more likely, but who knows) so I’d love to see us pick up the WV transfer for Center if we can make that work.

Soni Fonua, Michael Lockhart seem like lesser needs to me, but I would trust the staff if they take one. Are they being looked at as DE or big OLB?

Damaryon Houston would be a great speedy addition I’d love to take if there’s space, but prefer Njoku first.

After taking Thompkins off injury, not sure I like taking the flyer on Bivens over Mills, but if Mills drops off then we could take the chance on Bivens for sure.

Going to be tough to turn away some of these prospects, a good problem to have. Needs/wants appear to be:

NPG
MPM
James
OLB (Parker, Jordan or Fonua)
WR (Njoku or Houston)

Would be hard to turn away any of those guys, plus there is the ultra talented RB Bivens. Again, a good problem to have, we just haven’t been in this position in a long time.

Does 6 include Mills or you mean after Mills? I think that’s either 29 or 30 if I’m counting right.

See my posts in this thread on the numbers. The center is long gone, going to YSU to be with his girlfriend allegedly.

Agreed, it has been awhile since we have been in a position to be able to turn guys away.

Soni is a 3-4 OLB..Remember the OLB in a 3-4 is like a defensive end that can drop. Atleast one of them need to be 250-260..Fonua and Tannor could be a nice combo. Gifford was our most solid OLB at 245, one of the only one with the size to hold up but he lacked some explosiveness

I think they want 2 OLB...Fonua and one high school kid. Need a ready made player at OLB with some size to hold up against the run and rush the passer. Fonua checks both. I think NU is higher on Fonua than most think.
I could see that and it makes sense. Who do we let go CB? WR? The finish of this class will be very interesting.

I agree if the staff thinks he could make an immediate impact he may be higher priority. I totally trust staff right now as far as finishing with priorities in place.

Where does Domann fit in. Do you see him staying at OLB or moving back to safety? Or maybe just playing Nickel OLB against spread teams?

This will certainly be something to watch. I think they’d like him to lock it down at Safety but drop down to pass rusher for certain packages, in particular if we got other guys stepping up at Safety. I like that concept.

He may stay at OLB depending on developement of guys Tannor and Alston, dixon. Also how much they trust Ferguson or if Juco comes.
