Hypothetical situation - you can improve one position

Knowing who the Huskers have coming back (Martinez, Spielman, Washington, et al), if you could bring in one instant play maker who is guaranteed to succeed, what position do you upgrade?

I'm not looking for a particular name, but more so - one position - so if it's a monster left tackle, a D lineman, a rush end, etc. etc. - what is the one position you wish we could upgrade the most?

Did he get his medical reshirt and still has 2 years with us?

Linebackers - is that one or two? And not to be picky but one needs to be an edge rusher deluxe.

You could argue Alabama got crushed because they didn't have someone that could get to the QB off the edge. I know Kirk brought it up and it surprised me with all the elite recruiting Bama does. I'd take an ELITE OLB followed by an elite DT/DE.

Bama got crushed because they let a true freshman QB destroy them on the right side of the field.

Give me an elite DE like Julius Peppers or an elite DT like Suh. Get one dominant guy up front with a few solid players around him and rushing attacks disappear, QBs are under pressure, and LBs and DBs are free to cheat to pass plays. I think an elite DL can cover up a lot of mistakes in the defensive backfield and make offenses one dimensional easier than other position groups.

Honestly if we had our 2009 defense with what we have coming back on offense in 2019... I think we’d be legit top 10 with playoff possibilities. Sadly, we’re no where near our 2009 defense.

We'd definitely be in the playoff. Right up there with Bama and Clemson. That 2009 defense was insanely good.
