Agreed there, didn’t he just get beat out of his starting spot? That should not exactly equal immediate playing time. That happens all over the place in D1 football.

Northwestern has Hunter Johnson, 5* transfer from Clemson who red shirted this year, will play next, has three to play.

Wisconsin has Graham Mertz coming in a freshman. No slouch. We saw what Adrian did as a frosh in a rebuilding O. Here is a short blurb on him:

Mertz is a top national recruit for a reason. He can really sling the pigskin, throwing for 3,684 yards and 45 TDs to only six interceptions as a junior, connecting on 269-of-434 passes and leading his team to a state title. Ultimately, the 6-3, 205-pound four-star picked the Badgers over 18 other offers, including Ohio State, Notre Dame and Minnesota.

The Big 10 is not going to be devoid of good QB's but perhaps highly experienced ones.

Mertz was very effective in the AA game. Great touch and throws a very catchable ball. Heck of a pro style qb.

Fields should have too sit out a year... Georgia never had a coaching move...
I agree 100%. I believe Fields that he may have had a racial slur directed at him at Georgia, but who hasn't? College kids, lots of alcohol, parties, fights, girls, etc. I do not wish to make light of it, but pretty much any person of color from the SEC would be able to use that argument for immediate eligibility and the NCAA won't be able to prove one way or the other what was said or not said.
