Nebraska is 2-0 in Sun Bowls beating another SEC team Georgia 45-6 in 1969..

I thought we played Ole Miss in the Independence Bowl in 2002 (Eli Manning) as well.

I was at that game. Don’t remember much about it tbh. I was 12 and we drove down and stayed with some friends of my parents. They had kids about my age including one smoking hot daughter probably 3 or 4 years older than me. Sorry, don’t have any pics.

I thought the Huskers also played Miss. State in the '88 Kickoff Classic. After looking it up NU played Tx A&M. Glad I looked it up. I do remember the '80 Sun Bowl. Jeff Quinn is one of my favorite Husker QB's from yesteryear. I think the Huskers scored a TD on a double reverse. I can't remember for sure. I'll check it out.

I wish they could show older stuff then this bowl game..
Especially games that were on NBC, CBS and ABC..

Mississippi State and Texas A&M have a couple of head coaches in common. Emory Bellard had just left A&M when MSU played Nebraska in this Sun Bowl. Jackie Sherrill also later coached at both schools.
