Ok Im going to take this 8 team playoff a step further. Yes all P5 conference winners get in. So this year it would be.
Oklahoma
Alabama
Ohio St
Clemson
Washington

Then Take the next 6 highest ranked teams and have them play each other in a "win your in" game
So this year I think it could be

ND (make them join a conf)
Mich
UCF
Georgia
Fl
LSU

Here is how my playoff system could look
Win your in games
#6 ND vs #12 LSU ND winner
#7 Mich vs # 11 FL Mich Winner
#8 Georgia vs #9UCF UCF winner

Playoff
#1 Bama vs # 9 UCF
#2 Clemson vs # 7 Mich
#3 Oklahoma vs # 6 ND
#4 Ohio St vs #5 Washington

Absolutely ridiculous...LOL....so LSU who couldn't even score on Bama gets in but you leave UGA out out due to one bad game against LSU on the road early in the year. LOL, UGA is a different team at the end of the year than when they played.

Until they change the way conference champs are determined there should be no automatic qualifier for conference champs. If they could have pulled off the upsets yesterday that would have put Northwestern and Pitt in...do you really want a 9-5 and 8-4 team in the playoff?

Technically they lost to UCF in this scenario so 2 bad games, In that case yes they should be out.

Agree, I posted awhile back I think all Conf need to go to 14 teams. No more out of conf games. All teams play every other team in their conf, 13 games. The top 2 teams play for the championship. No more divisions. That would make the conf championship mean much more.
The problem with this type of schedule and the playoff I mentioned is the amount of games played to win a NC. 17 or 18 games. That is a lot for a college team.
