Ok, I will say it. I was always a fan of the old NFL "Sudden Death" rules. Be the first to score and you win. This stupid "give everyone a chance" rule that the NFL and college has gone to is stupid. Don't go to overtime. Play to win in regulation. If you go to overtime, all rules out the window. Go score. You win. Iowa actually earned a little respect the other day. They gambled and won in regulation. I think they lose if it went to OT.

There was a bunch of rainouts and there were family vacations to consider and also the NSAA has a hard date to the end of the season. And so the state championship was decided by a coin flip on a muddy field.

I will see if I can find an article to link later when I’m on the computer

I remember that. It was Summer Legion, not NSAA, so it was coming up on the start of the school year.

Mount Michael at Gretna in I think 2011 for the Class B/C title (Class C champion at Class B champion; Class A champion and runner up advance to play in the national tournament) if you're still looking for it. Mount Michael gradually built a lead (I think it grew to 4-0), then Gretna had a big inning after it had already started raining pretty hard. As soon as Gretna took the lead (5-4), the game was called because a HUGE storm was rolling in. After a while, there was a coin toss and Mount Michael ended up as the winner.

EDIT: I did a quick search, couldn't find anything.
