Many restaurants serve this combo all winter long. It is real good. Try it before you question it!

Years ago this was a popular combination at school cafeterias. I remember it being served at my school 100 or so years ago, and it was pretty good. Our cafeteria food was nothing great, but it wasn't bad. I would still prefer it to most of the junk fast food that's out there today.

Or what they serve at schools today. My nephew said it's nasty , sounds like a lot of food is going to waste

I travel a fair amount for work, and somehow this is a topic that gets discussed a lot - nobody outside of Nebraska has ever heard of eating cinnamon rolls with chili. About 90% of people have this disgusted look on their face when I mention it, but I swear it’s amazing - we will NOT eat chili in my house unless there are cinnamon rolls to go along with it.

They did that in the high school I went to in Colorado, chili and cinnamon rolls.

Chili and cinnamon rolls are great. I make sweet chili with brown sugar and the cinnamon rolls make a great side.

It’s not an every week thing but really good.

I'm sure DU will chime in and tell us it blows *** while he lists places nobody will ever go to as the most woke place to frequent for the best "insert obscure food here".

I grew up with it too-the combination never seemed odd at all to me. I've been told by others that it isn't just a Nebraska thing, it's more of an upper Midwest thing.

It’s funny because it’s true. No hate, Hoosker RollingLaugh

I myself have never understood the combo, but it is a popular Midwest thing

The food at the junior high I work at is way better than when I was a kid and Pizza Hut is also served on occasion. I probably get something from the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch 2-3 times a week and I LIKE IT!!! Winking

Even Runza thinks Chili and Cinnamon Rolls is a good idea!!

I’ve only found people in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas who know about this and the ones in Kansas were Iowa natives. We had chili up in North Dakota one night and they thought I was nuts when I brought up cinnamon rolls.

Never cared for Runza chili. To me it tastes like that canned Hormel crap. Wendys chili on the other hand ain’t bad.

When I was growing up I remember it more for school lunch, but had it sometimes at home for dinner. Then as we grew older it was a staple dinner in our household. Now living in MN my family eats this combo as well. And no one had heard of this since i moved here. It’s really funny when I mention this combo up here and the looks I get from people. There’s also the corn on the cob with spaghetti as well. Winking

Has to be a little sweet, perhaps with some honey butter, and not that super dry mouth sucking tasteless crap. I actually like the Jiffy mix. So sue me.

Yeah, good cornbread is damn good. Bad cornbread is bad, I’m not sure there is a middle ground.

Or...I could drop cheesy words like "woke" and "lit" in my attempt to sound cool.

I enjoy chili and cinnamon rolls with or without each other. They're both great! I've always been meat and potatoes, so I'm not much of a foody.

Lived all over the upper Midwest. Never had it.
Omg!!! Do they still flog people in the navy? If so get in line!!! Just kidding. When you get the chance definitely try it. The best if you have both the chili and cinnamon rolls made from scratch by far the best.

Chili with cornbread is what I grew up with. That works down in Texas as well. I just can't mash it up in the chili. Always on the side.

I grew up in a small town 17 miles west of Lincoln. Our high school cafeteria cook was out of this world. The majority of the food was from scratch. Still to this day the best chili I'd ever had and 2nd best cinnamon rolls. I'd kill for them for tomorrow's game.
