Theisman’s injury also occurred on NOV 18 - 33 years ago to the day - crazy

Yea that looks bad... I’m no doctor but I’m pretty sure your foot isn’t supposed to flop like that... ouch... I’m not a redskins fan by a fan of Alex Smith, guy started rough in San Fran but has done well turning his career around.... woulda liked to see him stay in one place but he is a true team player and very consistent wish him the best with a good speedy recovery

The injury is gruesome - however what is remarkable to me is that Theisman suffered the same injury - which is still referenced 3 decades later - on this exact date - Nov 18 - playing for the same team

I saw the Theisman injury (I don't remember if I was watching the game or saw replays) and have no desire to watch another injury that people describe as simliar!

I was watching the game when Joe was injured. A scene that is still sharp in my mind all these years later. Not interested in seeing another one
So was I. I saw a piece of film of Joe's injury and the leg snapped and he was instantly 3 inches shorter on that side. Gruesome is just about right. Wish Alex well, but if it were I, the towel is in the air.

The left shoulder tells me “Do no click on it”. Right shoulder says “click it”. I choose to click it every time.

I also believe that I heard both games ended with the same score of 23-21? Same day same score? 33 years later? That's crazy

absolutely crazy

"Joe Theismann broke his right tibia and fibula on Nov. 18, 1985 in a game in Washington that ended 23-21. The only three-time Defensive Player of the Year Lawrence Taylor was involved in the injury, which occurred around the 40-yard line. Theismann’s Pro Bowl left tackle, Joe Jacoby, wasn’t on the field due to injury.

Alex Smith broke his right tibia and fibula on Nov. 18, 2018 in a game in Washington that ended 23-21. The only other three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt was involved in the injury, which occurred around the 40-yard line. Smith’s Pro Bowl left tackle, Trent Williams, wasn’t on the field due to injury."

Yeah because that God D$#n kicker for Houston kicked one of the worst FG attempts you'll see this year in the NFL from 45 yards that would have changed the score and COVERED THE F&%KING SPREAD!
