KC Star has video of him and family getting off plane this morning at Topeka airport. LSU completed his $1.5M buyout on Thursday.

Will be interesting what staff he puts together there. Also will be interesting what KSU does with Snyder and son.

I do not understand this move looking thru Les's eyes at all. Great get for Kansas but WTH is Miles thinking?????
Les thinks with his connections to the SE that he can recruit enough talent to KU to make them respectable and I think he's right. He went out at LSU on a sour note and I'm not sure they're in any better shape than when they canned him. He's a MUCH better fit at KU than Weiss or Turner were and if he hires the right young coordinators, he could do okay. Hell if ISU can win games in the big 12, KU can. KSU is down. Okie St is inconsistent as are multiple other schools. He can win games there. The big 12 is a much easier place to win games than the SEC.

Wow, if true I will eat crow. I didn't think they had a chance at landing him. I see why they would go after him, just not sure why he would go for them? He must have really really wanted to get back into coaching and took the first P5 team that would take him.

One last gig for him before final retirement. And now he can re-hire Bo as his DC and Pelini can bring his tantrum show to Lawrence to try to draw some attention away from basketball. Laughing

Just tell Bo to make sure he stays south of the Nebraska/Kansas state line.

I don't know how close these two are, but it they are buds. I could really see it happening. Bo pay check from us runs out this year I believe. He would make more there as a DC then what he makes now. Plus if things go well, who knows he could take over for Les in a few years as HC.

Are they going to change from FieldTurf to natural grass or will Less be chewing on plastic blades before games?

Exactly. And KU has very low expectations. They just want to compete and not be the laughing stock of College Football. Win 6-7 games a year, go to a bowl game, that’s pretty much the extent of KU’s expectations of their football program. Les can do that at a place like KU. He certainly won’t compete for a playoff spot, and likely won’t compete for a Big 12 title, but if he can hire and groom a young “head coach in waiting” and get KU to 4-5 bowl games in a row before he retires for good. Then I think that’s exactly what KU wants and needs, especially if realignment talks ever fire up again.

You sir...GET IT!!!

Miles will be pulling talent out of the boot and taking instate from K State. Already recruits raving about the hire that now are considering KU today. Kid are taking notice of him and Pooka Magic!

I live about 25 miles from Lawrence. Think I'll go see a game next year. Miles at least will make it interesting.

And for the person that said it's like Mike Riley to Nebraska. Are you kidding? Miles has had much more success, and on a bigger stage than Riley ever did before coaching Nebraska.

Ku has been better this year than in many years. Last night they legit had OU on the ropes in Norman. Should have stuck with the guy who got them to this point.

FWIW, Bo gets his last blood-sucking check from Nebraska at the end of this coming February. After that point we won't be paying any Ex Head Coaches any more! Riley (as well as Eichorst) has been paid off previously with a lump sum. It's like no more alimony to worry about.
