I questioned are defense last week and was chastised by some dolts. I knew Illinois was a one trick pony. Iowa shoved that up their butt and it was game over. Iowa plays sound defense , people don't have career days against them. I still think we match up well for a win next week.

Well they may have taken out or starting RT, so you’ve got that going for ya.

lol, no excuses please. Your team is great and shoulda coulda been the B1G champs. Your the bullies of the B1G, right? Right?

Iowa should man handle a 4-7 team at their own house. What's your prediction for the game on Friday. Its good to get trolls on record.

Depends on weather. My app says cloudy, 45, chance of rain, with teens for wind. I actually hope it’s a beautiful day as that’s when Stanley has been at his best.

What’s your prediction?

Illinois is a program that just baffles me. No other real threat in the state in D-1, they should be the equivalent of Ohio State. Large population within their border, plus other states nearby to poach from. If they ever get more commitment from the school and a difference maker as their HC, they could be worth a damn. Doubt if it will happen. Hopefully Nebraska can get a few of their best every year going forward.

Why would anyone from illinois want to play for a 4-7 team and in last place in the B1G west divisions?

you guys really crack me up, that’s why I visit your boards

Northwestern, a private B1G University in Illinois, will play winner of Ohio State/Michigan in Indianapolis for the 2018 Big Ten Conference Championship.

Oh, what does Illinois play for in football?

It’ll be a fun game next week. What are some matchups y’all find intriguing? I am very curious how Iowa plans to stop AM- he’s a great athlete and we have traditionally struggled against mobile qbs. Also Nebs runs against the action can be tough to defend need to play disciplined. And Fant had such a good game against Neb last year, I am curious to see much of an impact he has this year. If he has a TD or 2 and 100 yards receiving I think Iowa is a winner. Our return game is peaking and could play a major roll in this game.

You're right, I forgot about Northwestern, missed big on that! (Maybe subconsciously I put them out of my mind after their comeback win over the Huskers:D).

But still, you'd think sooner or later Illinois would catch fire with a good coach and staff and at least have some kind of a ten year run of sorts.

Illinois plays 30 freshmen this season. They played what, 24 true freshman last season?

Lovie Smith will get 5 seasons at the Illini and while they will not bowl in 2018, after the worse Big Ten loss in school history, they may be a tougher out in 2019.

They will need to get a LOT better on defense in order for Smith to see better seasons ahead, as he is what, 9-26 in his third year? Next year it's pretty much all his players, and with all those young players getting time, you would expect a winning season for 2019. Recruiting averages about 55th on Rivals the past three years, probably good enough to have a winning type campaign in 2019. We'll see if Robinson, Taylor, or Rivers can fill in at QB next year and do a good job.

Were they without Corbin yesterday? Heard he only had one carry so I’m assuming he was still injured from the Nebraska game.

I'll go on record with 31-3 Iowa on Friday. Should be fun.
