I think Dave Christensen is the perfect fit for them. Was OC under Pinkel at Missouri, and helped install their no huddle/air raid with Chase Daniel. Knows the KC recruiting area. Didn’t do well at Wyoming, but got their offense rolling.

Joined Sumlin’s A/M staff so can likely recruit TX as well. With ASU now as O-Line coach I think.

I think Yost over at Utah State (another former Missouri gut) would be good too. I think the BigXII is a horrible fit for Les.

I don't see a young up and comer taking that job. It is a literal graveyard. Just look at the coaches they've had since 1986, outside of Mason, who left to go to Minnesota, the rest of the head coaches are now on a milk carton or back in lower levels.

I was perusing their board to check the water temperature concerning their coaching situation earlier and they are really trying to convince themselves that Les Miles is in. While I wouldn't say it's impossible, I does seem fairly unlikely. I expect a meltdown on par with Tennessee last year when their non splash hire is eventually announced.
They aren't going to get any big hire to come to KU. Les Miles isn't going to KU.

Les Miles in unemployed. If he wants to coach again, he isn't getting a big time job. If he doesn't get either the CU or KU job, it will be be because he doesn't want to coach not because he is a big hire.

They probably should've just stayed the course with Beaty. But that's not what new AD's do.

I could see CU.

I think Les Miles is a pretty good coach actually. But KU really needs somebody long term who can build that program from the bottom up. Idk, maybe they can find their own Matt Campbell out there somewhere.
They need to re-hire Mangino. They were stupid to fire him behind some hurt feelings ********

Les Miles and LSU just agreed to a $1.5 million one-time payment on his remaining guarantee.

Mangino's not coming back (nor should KU ask him).

I think all signs point to Les Miles. And with the news today about he and LSU finalizing his buyout it's obvious he has something locked down.

KU has a home game tomorrow night. Would be a good time to parade the new coach out there at halftime.

Maybe somebody can help me out here. Did his contract with LSU prevent him from taking another job? Not sure why this would be the case since he was fired. Maybe somebody more in the know can explain this to me.

Nothing official yet. Just speculation. Not saying it won't happen at this point, but until pen to paper hits things can change.

I would agree if our AD and Miles didn't have a good relationship with each other. What people need to remember is Kansas doesn't expect miles to come in and win national championships. Just getting into some bowl games would be a homerun!

Agree, I don't think he is the long term game plan, if he is hired. I think he would do that, he got a bad name his last few years at LSU. He is a good coach and think he would do good things for KU if this all goes through.
