Sounds like real good pub for OSU recruiting efforts.

Of course Zach is gone but Urban remains in place (at least for now). IF the story is true you would think Urban would have been involved after it happened.

At very least I'm pretty sure Zach Smith has guaranteed that he'll never work in football at any level higher than a junior high gig in New Hampshire or Rhode Island again. He's f'ed...and I wouldn't be surprised to see his name in the Obits in the not too distant future.

Some pretty serious accusations and some pretty serious backlash. The article does have direct quotes from the father, but it appears he may not exactly be credible.

Myer is threatening legal action, but I'm not sure what grounds he wold have for that.

Wow, just read the report. The mom strongly denies it... but she also lost her nursing license for defrauding an elderly couple that she was the caretaker for. Stole a ton of money from them. The dad says it definitely happened... and although he was arrested for cocaine in the past.. he seems like a straight shooter. I don't think Urban would fly down to florida and miss his presser to help a former player's mom with cancer... I think Urban would definitely fly down to florida to cover his *** from a scandal

As bad as I want to see OSU taken down, this is just BS, irresponsible reporting and I just read where McMurphy just admitted that the story would have never been released if OSU would have fired Meyer - definitely a vendetta there. Three OSU WRs at the incident - all black - Dixon, Campbell, and Mack were all livid over the report and denied anything like McMurphy is reporting ever took place. Yet he based his story on his father's account and whose background has already been discussed. Don't be surprised if OSU follows up with some kind of legal action - if possible.

Got to disagree. In the article he states this is what dad said, this is what the three players at OSU say, this is what Grimes friends are saying, etc. He isn’t really claiming to know which account is true and which is false. I don’t see how he can be sued for reporting the story the father is telling.

I would bet the farm that no legal action is ever taken. A court case would force everyone to dredge up the incident and look at it again and again and again. OSU needs to try to move on from all of this...

Understand, but my point is why would any credible reporter base print a damning story like this one based on one source who has cocaine background. McMurphy is taking heat from everyone right now for this and stands to lose credibility with future articles
