Some of us thought that since SF came from UCF where they wore different combo of uniforms during the year that maybe he would want Nebraska to wear different alternate uniforms from time to time, but Head Coach SF put that to rest on Monday.

Frost said he believes Nebraska look is one of the most iconic in College Football and doesn’t need to be changed.

“ In general I think there’s maybe a dozen brands in College Football and uniforms you recognize and those schools are better off, in my option, just sticking to the tradition”

“ We have a strong enough tradition here were everyone in the country when they see that ‘N’ on the side of the helmet, know what it stands for. Not to say we wom’t Mix it up on occasion, but there’s power in what we wear on Saturday and I don’t see us wearing something different every weekend”

So it sounds like we won’t be having a lot alternate uniforms but he did say they will mix it up on occasions. Still wouldn’t mind if we could wear a red helmet chrome or metallic with the same strip on the helmet and ‘N’ on the sides that way if they wanted to wear white jersey’s and pants for away games it would look better..

Just my opinion on the subject..

Thought he or Moos said shortly after Frost was hired that they weren't going to get crazy with alt uniforms maybe do it 2 or 3 times a year.

I think the look that we had last year that brought back the 90's uniform idea (red jerseys, white pants, black shoes) was perfect. I'd like to see us bring that look back. I know Wisconsin kind of does it, too, but F them, we were successful with it first.

I like that we do alternate uniforms, and think we should a couple times a year (more than we do now, just not every freakin' game). I'm...not happy with this years. I like the jerseys as throwbacks, but the helmets are very weird. The ones we wore in 2009 were way better (white helmets with black numbers).

Obviously it’s difficult to duplicate helmets back in the 1920’s in today’s world and that is what they tried to accomplish with this years version...

I was hoping they would be doing something along the lines of Veterans Day with red white and blue helmet or something along the lines...

2009 were the actual 1962-1965 home uniforms those were throw backs just like last year’s were throw backs for 1997..

Let’s keep alternate separate from throw backs as long as we are staying on the subject...

I actually agree with that 100%. How about one game a year, we do an edgy alternate uniform, and one game a year, we do a throwback uniform? That way we're mixing it up 1/6th of the time, and staying with our classic uniforms the rest of the time.

Two jerseys I wouldn’t mind seeing again would be the 1978- 1983 with the block ‘N’ on the sides of the jersey and I have to admit my favorite jersey’s were from 1968-1974 with the varsity strips on the shoulder pads and sleeves when we won our back to back National Titles..

Which jerseys do some of you prefer to wear?

Not a big fan of alternate uniforms but one I wouldn’t mind seeing would be to incorporate the actual school color of cream instead of white. Think that would look good.

Couldn’t agree more.. OU tried it recently and it looked great..

Only 3 schools claim cream instead of white..

Nebraska Scarlet and Cream
Oklahoma Crimson and Cream
Indiana Crimson and Cream..

100% what is crazy, up the chain of command between Adidas and here at Nebraska, nobody said hey those really look horrible. Im starting to think the crappy alt uniforms over the years have not been a result of poor Adidas designs but more so those here at Nebraska who keep approving them.

While I have a feeling we are not going to go as crazy as Oregon or UCF (new uniforms every game) I think Frost will do alt uniforms 2 or 3 times a year. He is firm believer is look good, feel good, play good. Now we just need to get the alt uniforms to look good.

I dunno.. if you're gonna say they don't need changing, then you change them, minor detail or not, it seems kind of hypocritical... Where is Tuco?? Smokin

Nebraska went away from strips after the 94 season and then in 2002 adidas introduces the wide red stripe for both home and away games, after that experiment Solich last year Nebraska had no stripes then FS is fired Bill Callahan came back with the stripes on the pants and jerseys till this season when Frost went back to no strips..

I’m not talking about the stripes on the pants just the area code..;)

I prefer the stripes on the pants because of the 70’s and 80’s...Devaney’s 1966 team had just one strip till 1970..

I would like to see all red (white helmet), all white, and all black including the helmet as a nod to the Black shirt tradition. But still basically the same as always, just opposite of white.

I usually just bite my lip during alternate jersey week, but I haven't liked one alt jersey better than the standard ones. This year's jerseys (especially the helmets) are awful.

Pants look better than the pictures, they kind of have a Cream color to them..

As someone who takes stats, stay away from those damn duct tape numbers we wore against Illinois when Randy Gregory was here.

Yeah, we got a lot of $$ from this deal but Adidas gets to continually bend us over with these Alt Uniforms most years...

Well they trying to copy the look from years past so I’ll give them a pass....

Love the numbers and I like the Cream looking pants ( those would look good with a red strip.

They aren’t bad. Though, if we’re going to, I’d rather do some edgy modern designs that players like. Assuming players don’t get into this one.

Caught just a few plays on TV while grabbing a quick bite before heading back to the combine. Didn't think the cream pants were so bad but the cream with The white helmets, no. IF it's a sticker over our helmets tben maybe go brown so it actually looks like a leather helmet
