I assume the staff has been waiting for Jojo to get healthy as he is playing quite a bit and really fills a defensive stat sheet. Does he slide back to one of the safety spots next year or continue to play as a hybrid safety/LB? Listened to the Sirius OSU broadcast of the game (their sideline guy pronounced Domann as Domain), and Jojo’s name was mentioned frequently.

I really hope that the staff keeps Domann at linebacker. The kid makes plays. To put the decision in its simplest terms. As a linebacker, he's considered fast and quick. As a safety, he's considered slow. The staff needs to commit to having great team speed on the field. Frankly, we've been one of the slower teams in the Big 10 in recent years.

Whatever they call him, he's best at a hybrid role, IMO. He can cover backs as a LB, can cover space in zone as a safety or cover slot men.

Moving him around is a key, though. Don't box him into a single role that is expected by offenses, and instead move him around to where he can do the most damage. He could be our most dynamic defensive player

That's what we cantc do right now... cover backs with lbers. I think that is where he will be good

LB could be decent for us next year assuming that Honas comes back healthy. Domann & Dixon on the outside and Honas & Barry on the inside.

A more functional D-Line with some edge rushers, and more talented, deeper backers in the middle will amplify his skills, and take pressure off the DBs. If we plug those holes next year — even a little —, this D will be dangerous.

Just noting that the defense is not the same as what they started with.. playing much more conservatively, which is good. Making the other team earn it. While we still need to improve, the current approach has made a difference and it almost seems like we are running the Peso again.

Unless Fair is the real deal and has a huge impact, I don't see the DL performing much better next year.

We’ll see. I’m more optimistic than you. A less adept coaching staff found Randy Gregory a few years back, who, despite enjoying his pot a bit too much, was an impact player. Frost also found and developed Griffin at UCF. I don’t think they’ll stand pat with what they have + Fair.

He made some nice plays. He made a few bad mistakes as well. I think people are jumping the gun a little early here, especially with the Farley comparisons. I think this year we need him more at safety, then he could switch to OLB next year. We don't have any good safeties this year. We do have decent OLBs in Gifford and Ferguson along with Tannor coming in.

There aren't a ton of Randy Gregory's out there, and Griffin didn't develop overnight. He took a little while. Just saying that we probably shouldn't get our hopes up.
