No sunshine pump. Keep it real.

I will say, what I said in another thread, that the offense has a lot of potential, if some key OL pieces fall into play next year. It's a stretch to say they will, but it could happen.

Unfortunately, we're still gonna have to rely on first year players, with one off-season in Frost's system.

I look forward to the day we have experience and depth everywhere.

Then we can start jerking each other off, big time. GBR

Agree, agree, agree, and...I probably won't participate, but if it happens, at least we'll know we're back. GBR!

The offense is better than fine. It has to become more efficient turning yards into points, however. I'm a bit worried about our O-line next year. The current iteration is pretty good.

I understand your sunshine pumping. I say, I won't take the sunshine, and then I read the media and it somehow seeps in.

I would consider an over the pants jibber for Chinander if he figures out how to shut down Ohio St

ha, ha! We have an amazing quarterback, we have an offense that will be ridiculous in the future and we finally won a game!

The defense well... Were getting better.

everybody knowing what they are supposed to do helps tremendously.
they were told what to do at the start of the season, but until they know what they are doing we lose games. I also see us turning the corner like the sb artical.

We will continue to get better in a lot of ways.
The most simple stat that would dramatically change our win/loss percentage is 3rd down defense.
We get better at that and we are a legit team even with our current obvious weaknesses.

What I think has been huge is our team seems like they are finally getting used to playing at full gameday speed. It looks like at the beginning of the season they weren't ready at all for the in-game speed and pace of play.

I think the turn around is well underway. I agree with the above, we need to get better on 3rd down on both sides of the ball. Getting off the field defensively on 3rd down has been a big struggle this year. It was much better on Saturday. I think we stopped Minny on 3rd down 6 times in a row in the first half. Also I we need to convert on 3rd down offensively. We need to be up around 60% and right now we’re at 38%. Improve on 3rd down on both sides of the ball and we become a very dangerous team very quickly.

Also penalties. It was night and day better this past Saturday. I think the team finally realized how badly penalties can hurt. There were fewer penalties on Saturday, and a few of the penalties we did have were not drive/momentum killers.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on 3rd downs and penalties the last 5 games of the year. If they clean up both, then I can absolutely see us improving enough down the stretch to have a shot at winning 4 of the next 5. It’s a stretch, especially with Iowa playing as well as they are right now. But we have the talent to beat BC, Illinois, MSU, and Iowa. The question is will we display the discipline necessary? If we do, we’ll play everyone tough.

Last two games, we've played decent defense for 3 of the 4 qtrs, wouldn't you say?

I think our defense has improved, but we're young. It seems to me, I could see the fellas get tired in the second half. I dont know what the rotation is, but I'm getting further away from questioning Chins.
