I just figured it would help for depth next year, plus Im not sure where he is as far as pro ball, maybe another year would help him make more money?

Mick has already used his redshirt. He would need to have two years lost due to injury to qualify for a sixth year.

I am no pro scout, but I will be surprised if Mick ever has a cup of coffee as an NFL lineman. I like Mick. He's a good leader, works hard and is one strong human being. But, I don't see NFL talent. He may well prove me wrong. In any event, I hope he gets back to provide some depth down the stretch.

Agree. Plus, his knees would keep him out of the NFL as well.

Big Mick could very well have a monster of what's left of his season, no? I'm gonna add maybe just a little logic to this, so before anyone jumps the gun just read. Mick's injury could very well be a blessing in disguise as I guarantee he's been shadowing Dawson and learning every nuance of the DL and his position in particular. It's kind of a similar situation to another player we had with the same type of knee injury. This is the part I'm telling people not to go overboard and get carried away with. Back in the spring of 09 Suh had a knee injury which he had to sit it completely out and all he did was shadow Carl learning everything he could about the DL, his postion, and it's scheme. Suh had a little above average year in 08, but was not great by any means. Fall of 09, Suh is back to 100% health and it took until the Missouri game that year for him to absolutely explode and everyone know's the rest of that story. I am in noooo way comparing talent here, just the situation! This truly very well may cause a huge jump for us defensively going forward upon his return. I'm thinking he will be back for OSU, and it will allow CD to return to DE where he is way more effective. It's different learning as a player as opposed to learning from the coach's point of view of what he's teaching from the sidelines as to say. I believe when he comes back, we just very well may have someone that is like a coach on that DL and Big Mick is a beast! We shall see what happens. Just my 2 cents.
