I didn't see the game, as I was out of town at an expo, so I can't comment on the game, but it sounded like at totally dominating effort by Nebraska.

Congratulations on the game, and best wishes for the rest of the season!

I don't understand this. I understand being a good sport and accepting defeat, but you are far too magnanimous.

Well, going by the box score, what else could be said? Regarding well wishes, I do not see any value in being a jerk. Especially since I did not play a down. Seeing that I could be timed with an hour glass when running a 40, I don't think that will see the field.

Anyway, again, congrats!

Thanks. But I don't think there idnis an authentic poster that is a true Husker fan that wasn't saying, crap here we go again in the 3rd qtr when Minnesota was making their run.

However our offense stepped up to the plate and the defense stiffened. Our kids didn't give up.

That's what we wanted. A change from last year.

What was the expo for
Metalsmithing. I attempt to woodwork, so i wanted to learn some things about metal. It was really more of an open house. They let me make a hook, and now I have contacts that will help me with making chisels, and plane blades. I will still buy most of the stuff like I have in the past. It's just nice to know how make tools just in case I need a special width chisel or plane.

Probably saved me from having to buy a new tv set...
Oh well. Now we know a little more about both of our teams. You know your team didn't quit on coach Frost. We know that our team better grow up fast. That and we may need to start thinking about a new DC at Minnesota.

Maybe you should go after the Washington State DC :)

DC has to be the toughest coaching position in college football. Seemingly every trend favors the offense. You can barely tackle or pressure the QB without getting a personal foul, pass interference is flagged left and right, offenses are spreading you out and going fast, fast, fast.... Coaches like Frost, etc, basically do nothing to protect their defenses. Tough gig.

That's very well said sir. Very well said.

I too was sweating bullets in the 3rd quarter.....shaking like a leaf on a tree. But to my HUGE surprise the Huskers toughened up on both sides of the ball.

As you said, that's what we wanted so badly. A 180 degree change from Beaver-ball.

Thanks, STP. Classy through and through. Your Gophers fought hard as always and gave us a real scare in the second half. If we play you a few weeks earlier, the score is likely much closer.

Hope you guys win out. Don't be a stranger.

Thanks! Your team is learning to win, so look out going forward. Unfortunately for my Gophers, Nebraska picked the right time to click. Like I said early last week, your Huskers have talent. Sometimes it just takes a while to click. Especially in a new system. Not that my Gophers don't have talent as well, it's just razor thin. No depth and not at every position.

Obviously the better team won.

BTW, I don't dislike Iowa, but It would put a big smile on my face if you guys took it to them as well.:D

This is high praise considering the environment in this board of late...

And well deserved high praise!
