LOL, the only team they've played with a pulse beat them.
He is obviously a troll but give some credit. Iowa State beat a top ten team. Maryland beat a now too 10 team (as fluky as that was). They aren’t exactly squeaking by teams. Let’s be honest, they probably should have beaten Wisconsin if not for shooting themselves in the foot....literally.

We will find out hopefully in the big ten title game.

That's going to take some hope, for sure. Wisconsin is still the heavy favorite. I guess we'll find out next week if you guys have what it takes. It's pretty much a must win.

Iowa is still second in the West until Wisconsin proves otherwise. They still have to lose one more for Iowa to even win the west. Do they look good right now? Yes but they have to avoid the typical Iowa slip up the rest of the year. (Nebby included) and get by PSU at their place next week. We will see what happens. Coming from a Hawk fan. Lots of season left. Iowa could end up 7-5 and wouldn’t be surprised or get 11-1 and get to the conference title game.

Just because the BTN guys have been giving you a hand job all day doesn’t mean you’re the best team in the BIG. You’re still just a skid mark on the underwear of college football.

But then posting my previous post and then reading this makes me remember trying to have a decent college football discussion here is dumb on my part to begin with.

Iowa has a great defense, very solid QB play, offense is getting better. They should have beat Wisconsin, so as much as it pains me, I think they may be playing the best.

Iowa does look good. More complete than I’ve seen them in a long time. Will be interesting to see how they finish out the season.

I always respond to trolls with snide remarks. If you want to have decent college football discussions, then by all means, I’m more than happy to have a legitimate discussion. Trolls on the other hand get responses similar to what I posted above.

So in the spirit of good college football discussion. Yes, Iowa does look good now. Honestly I haven’t watched them enough to be able to say how good they are, but based on record, and what little I have seen, it’s certainly unreasonable to count them out of the West race. And they have a legit shot at making the BIG title game. That said, Wisconsin is the team to beat until proven otherwise. And while I’ll certainly say that Iowa has a shot at winning the West, the BTN guys are saying they still have an outside shot at a playoff, and could be a playoff team. Mathematically that may be the case, but realistically it’s just hard to believe. Iowa just isn’t there talent wise to compete for a playoff spot. Winning the West is still very much in question. Running the table, and beating OSU or Michigan for the BIG title is still very much a stretch.

Great defensive line with depth. Solid big arm QB...WRs are getting better and two of the best TEs in the country. That being said, we struggled in the pass game today with the wind being a factor. We are playing with two freshman CBs and we have injuries in our LBer core. Good teams seem to find a way to win! Nebraska looked good today and the offense looked great...very explosive! The Iowa/Nebraska game could be a slobber knocker!

I think our offense continues to improve... but our defense still hasn’t found their legs. Many believe it’s the coaching. Others say we don’t have the talent. Probably both.

The reason I fear Iowa is because you seem more solid on both sides of the ball than Nebraska. We are improving. Last game of the season, so who knows? We will continue to improve... should be a great game. Hopefully.

Fair response and it’s a stretch that Iowa wins the west AND beats Michigan or OSU, but it almost happened in 2015 with a lesser offense, IMO. Brian Ferentz is really hitting his stride calling plays. It feels different with this offense. The WRs are starting to get better and the TEs are simply amazing. Stanley just needs to stop making a WTF interception every game.

I do think Wisconsin slips up once more this season so who knows.

I would agree on the Wisconsin part. They aren’t what they were last year and I can certainly see them losing another one. But you guys don’t exactly have a cakewalk the next 5 weeks. At PSU next week is going to tell us all we need to know. And going to Purdue isn’t a gimme, that’s a team on the rise. And NW is Jekyll and Hyde. Catch them on a good week like last week and you can get beat, catch them on a down week like this week and you have to wonder what the hell is going on in Evanston. You’ll roll Illinois and if we can keep from beating ourselves we’ll give you the best shot you seen from NU in 5 years. So while I think you guys are rolling, I personally think you’re going to need more than just a Wisconsin slip up.

No argument here. I was just going best case and saying Iowa controls their own destiny in my mind.

One more thought. With all these one loss teams, assuming Purdue holds on, three team ties come into play so Iowa could potentially still slip up once. I love college football.

The transitive property doesn’t work in college football.

Iowa isn’t even the best team in the West, let alone in the B1G.

I disagree and so did the Badger fans I talked with after the game. The Hawks gave that game away and were the better team. Much like how Wisconsin was probably better in 2015.

“Transitive properties” is all we have in college football. It’s in every conversation about any college football team ever had. Especially, when you have polls.
