Kendig retires

Doesn't sound good. Effective immediately. Would suspect it is either health (his or family member) or something else that is bad. Just not the right timing with season just around the corner. Would seem definitely not planned. Wish him the best and thanks Coach Kendig on a very successful run.
Just saw on twitter that this is NOT related to any student welfare issues-- in other words, he's not one of the creeps like the MSU or Penn State coaches. Hope he is OK.
Maybe he decided 25 years was enough. With the new gymnastics center started and the season right around the corner the timing seems odd. Will be and should be good opportunity to bring in a coach with our success but probably not right now. Doubt anyone would be in the market to change ships now. Could be wrong. When a great job opens up and your name is on the short list in the desk drawer of the AD, you listen.
They said Moos approached him about compliance issues that Nebraska was going to self report and he chose to retire.

Well hopefully it's a slipper and not a shoe that drops. I am glad it's not health related. We can and will work through anything else. If itsi nothing major the next coach will be getting some nice new facilities. Should be a wanted job. Get to work Moos.
