But in all seriousness, Nebraska is really awful. Their ineptitude is prolific. I share your disbelief that they can be so bad. But they are. It is not an illusion, or bad luck, or the refs. Nebraska is flat out awful. There are very few teams worse- if any.

No, but we might be the most melodramatic fan base in America.
What a ridiculous thread. The worst team in America doesn’t lose last second against Colorado, Troy, and northwestern. The worst team loses those games badly.

After today us, San Jose St and Utep are the only team left who have not won a game. Yes we are 0-6 but we are probably one of the better 0-6 teams in awhile. Outside of Mich and maybe Wisc late, we have been a play or 2 or a mistake or 2 from getting the win. If we lose to Bethune then yes we are officially the worst team in the country.
the day this fan base ceases to be so melodramatic about watching really terrible coaching and sloppy football is the day this program is done for good.

You really have no clue about football if you believe that there are no teams worse than Nebraska. We are good enough to challenge any team ranked 20 and below. NW beat #19 ranked Michigan State by 10 last week and lost to #12 ranked Michigan team by 3. Michigan State beat 8th ranked Penn State at Penn State tonight and Michigan beat 15th ranked Wisconsin by 25. NW is a good team and we are just as good and barely lost on the road. We are a few plays away from being 3-3 instead of 0-6.
Troy beat Nebraska 24-19. Troy lost today to Liberty 22-16. So then, using your logic NW, Liberty, and Nebraska are all pretty much equal?
You are what your record says your are. Nebraska would screw up a 2 car funeral procession. They are awful. Your denial of that reality is kind of cute, but not helpful. Nebraska is a complete ****-show. It probably won't be that way forever. But is is that way now. They are a disaster.
Don’t necessarily disagree, for the most part. We are bad. But we have been close in 3 of our 6 losses. Worst teams in college football are not close. At all.
I think it is just habit. 10- 15 years will do that to the strongest fan base. All things considered there aren't many fan bases that would have stuck with this program as long as the Nebraska fans have.
I love my kids, wife, family, friends more than anything. I support them 100%. That doesn't mean I don't get frustrated with them, yell at them, tell them they are being stupid now and then and making mistakes. The same thing goes for my football team.

And Mike Riley was a few plays away from going 10-2 in 2015. But he found a way to lose 5 games he should have won.
I wouldn't say worst team, but I might agree if you said the worst performance by a coach this season. It has to be one or the other.

It's definitely perplexing, I think in a tight situation the players revert back to old habits instead of bucking up they fold I'm beginning to think it's more a mental issue that anything yes we don't have great athletes but still there attitude isn't good look at there body language even after we kick the field goal to go up 10 there was no fire doubt they don't trust there fellow players there probably looking at each other see which one will miss a tackle or get the penalty

My favorite is that if someone makes a post about the team getting better or anything positive we are thumping our chest or sugar coating 0-6. No ability to think objectively, just love the drama and the outrage. I am not happy about 0-6, but some can see improvements and some can’t. If you truthfully can’t see that the team played better today, you never will.
Repeating myself here, but I lost it when we got called for a false start on 3rd and 1 in the OT. That simply can't happen in that situation but yet we f*cked it up. Then, we recover a bit and get the yards back and set up a 4th an 1. Then we snap the ball on the ground behind the QB. How does that happen in that situation!!?? 82 snaps in the game and that is the one you butcher!!??

I don't think we are THE worst, but it was pretty depressing to hear that the U. of North Texas became bowl eligible today, while we went to 0-6.
No question about It... It’s like we’re snake bitten..
UAB didn't even have a football program 2 years ago, and they are 5-1 this year, and made a bowl last year.
Maryland doesn't even have a head coach, and they are 4-2 with a win over Texas.
Kansas has 2 more wins than we do.
Iowa State just recorded their 3rd win against a Top 10 team in the last 2 years.
Troy lost to Liberty today.
Ole Miss was banned from bowls for the next 2 years, and several of their best players transferred, yet they are 5-2.
We are one of the worst teams in the country. Individually, we have enough talent to win games, but as a collective team, we are one of the worst.
Does it really matter if we are the worst team in college football? We are 0-5. I don’t care what Coach Frost said about hitting the bottom a few weeks ago...it seems to be getting worse almost every week. Many Husker fans want to know when will it finally end.
I can only hope next week but Frost has a monumental job getting his team fired up to play. Maybe this is the week to rehire Dr. Jack Stark to get this team back on the right track mentally.

I thought the question was worst team in college football, not one of the worst. I would have treated this thread differently if it was titled “one of worst teams in college football.”

There was a worst case scenario, and there is our current reality. Our current reality is more awful than anything you thought possible. Nebraska football is a slap-stick laughingstock comedy of incredible errors. It probably wont be that way forever, but that’s what it is today. We fans are just trying to deal with it.

Who here is talking about silver lining stuff? The premise of the thread is that there is not a single team in America that we are better than.
Anybody who disagrees with that sentiment now is considered someone who is looking for a silver lining?
