I see Warner as a bit of a Westercamp type player. Not going to simply out-athlete a lot of guys... but he'll be a solid dependable player who will be in the right place and the right time.
We sure we don't see him as more of a Matt Davison type player? Or maybe Nate Swift? Todd Peterson type player? Who am I forgetting? Grant Mulkey type player?

4.33?

Could be any number of reasons he’s not playing
It's obviously a conspiracy. He's the best RB they have but the coaches refuse to move him above 3 or 4 on the depth chart because they hate kids from Nebraska. That's gotta be the reason.

It couldn't be that he looked solid against our bad defense in a couple spring games but isn't actually anything special.

If a 23 yr old Danny Woodhead was on the team right now, any diff, probably 3 or 4 on depth.

I've been leading the committee for trusting Frost and the staff, but this quote is kind of puzzling. I would like to think that these coaches know their roster and we're seeing the best guys on the field. So, hearing that "Shoot, I guess we had a kid who can make plays but it's just a total accident that we finally figured it out" is not that reassuring. In sports there's a lot to be said for just getting the opportunity, some guys never do.

Some coaches want to be loyal and give players a chance, but even good coaches make mistakes. For example some argued that Saban should have played Tua sooner over Hurts last year and should have known who the better QB was and not wait until the Championship game.

Hahaha, touche. I made the comparison because Warner set all sorts of high school records in Arizona like how Westy set all sorts of records in Illinois.

In any event, Warner is indeed a "throwback," a real "heady" player that plays with great "heart." He's also a "scrapper." Who knows... maybe he's "deceptively fast" as well.

John Vedral.

Isn't Mulkey the guy in the video that laid out the Misery student who got in his face immediately following a loss to them on their field? Laid that kid out.

Suppose as a staff you see a young player with loads of talent, but a bad work ethic, or attitude, or a bad teammate, etc. You've tried everything to motivate the kid to change, but no luck.

You suppose your last option is to replace the kid in the lineup as the last chance to reach him. Sometimes it works, sometimes the kid quits on you.

Warner was in the right place at the right time, and he took advantage of the chance. Good for him, I'm proud of kids like that.

Kids like the one that quit, not so much.

I don't think that was Mulkey. Let me google it...wanna say it was some TE?

Kellen Huston it was! I honestly don't remember what position he played.

Surprisingly agile. More athletic than you think.

Seriously though if you don't listen to Danny's segments with Nick Bahe, Woodhead is a funny dude. He's got some good White RB jokes.

I do think that Danny is auditioning a bit for a possible radio gig.

You wouldn't happen to have link to those segments? Didn't know Bahe had a show still...

So you made it up? Cool

I feel like I'm having one of those conversations with my wife when she just feels like arguing for reasons that I can't figure out. So I'm just gonna do what I do in those situations and say, "Whatever you say, honey"

The problem for them with Warner is that he lacks foot speed. I'm sure they know that and they want guys that can take it to the house so he doesn't necessarily fit. However, when push comes to shove he can get 8-15 and be where he's supposed to be and it seems we're short of guys who consistently do that. He's got very good hands.
