This is why I do support Scott Frost.....

I have been a little disappointed and tough on the coaching that we have all seen so far this year...but this quote is why I do support Scott Frost....even if I don't think expectations have been met (by the players or coaches).

He's inherited a bunch of guys who've grown used to losing, expect to lose and don't seem to care. When you have guys on the bench jiving and dancing when we're down late in a game, there's a problem and that isn't a problem brought on by Frost. He can't cut them. Realistically he can't suspend them. Personally I'm having my assistants see if there's video of who it was and those guys are done dressing for games for a while. If we get down to fielding a bunch of walk ons so be it. There's a culture of losing and being okay with losing that has taken root and it needs to be weeded out. Unfortunately I'm afraid we've got a few guys who grew up getting participation trophies.

There’s a culture of **** effort and not caring that runs deep than could possibly be fixed in a year. Would we have better short term results with a coach that lets it go and let’s the country club continue? Probably. But it would never get us where we need to go. Frost wants more. That’s going to be a long term fix for any coach. I’m convinced we’ve got the guy and staff to do it. As long as the idiot section of our fan base doesn’t grow large enough to prevent giving Frost the time needed. This will takes year before we are anywhere close to where we want to be IMO

You had me until the cliched participation trophy thing. Most of these guys arent participation trophy type guys. They were always studs. But now so are most they are playing against. Maybe its they just dont care enough and dont want to try hard enough to overcome not still being the biggest or quickest guy out there.

I saw the video of the dancing and laughing on the news this morning. I appreciate the fact that he is taking FULL ownership....which, despite the fact that this is what he inherited....he is being paid handsomely to get it fixed...and I know it can't happen overnight. But there is no excuse for the sloppy undisciplined play!

Most of the players on the team care but then you have those few that don't and its obviously affecting their ability to learn from mistakes. It's enough to hurt our chances in every game. Unfortunately, some of those players are starting for us. Either we give others a chance or we have to wait until the dead weight is gone IMO.

I think the dancing on the sideline is over which may be a positive step to instilling some urgency in these guys instead of treating it like a party. I watched Purdue players on the sideline throughout the game and never saw a hint of dancing or celebrating. Also on the radio pre game there was a comment that #4 for Purdue was all business pre game, no dancing. That's a true freshman who has the right attitude.

I just think from now on we are going to see a much more serious sideline which will indicate the start on the turnaround.
