Our defensive unit is basically using Iowa colors for motivation? Obviously I don't mind the black, but why yellow?

The only theory I can think of would be the extra motivation to get the hell out of Iowa's colors

Why not blue as the alternate color to emulate giving the opposition a bruise or something?

The 2nd assistant team manager went down to the local sporting goods store a couple of blocks away and needed some jerseys that were easily destinquishable from the offense...... wait my old-timers disease is kicking in but nice to go down memory lane...

In all seriousness. No clue

Why, when McBride did it, we were in the Big 12, Iowa wasn't even a thought back then.

It's yellow. It's a color. There is a finite number of colors available, all of which probably are associated with a college football team or two. Hell, black is associated with ALL teams at this point. Wasn't aware that "Iowa" is next to "yellow" in the dictionary.

I thought Domann was pretty good in his response... you don’t want to wear the yellow, you want the black. So if you are wearing a yellow jersey you gotta ramp it up if you want the blackshirt. No plays off. No letdowns. Don’t settle for yellow.

Our QB’s wear green jerseys in practice before SF arrived and no one complained about wearing Michigan St color’s.o_O

Personally - I love it that anytime the word Blackshirt is used in college football - NOBODY thinks of Iowa. Might as well do the same to the Gold.
