I hear it mentioned yesterday that one of our options is to schedule another opponent for our bye week. Anyone know if this is being considered?

So what your saying is the team would rather not have a bye the rest of the season, not to mention the next game is at Ohio St..

If NU doesn't play in the conference championship game they may find someone to play then. Florida State did something similar last year.
Kaz, Florida St still played Louisiana Monroe in December after the cancelled game in September...
That's what I was talking about. It may not have come out that way, but it's what I meant. FSU needed that game to be bowl eligible.
Another site said Nevada Wyoming UNLV and Utah State can all schedule a 13th game for Dec 1st since they travel to Hawaii.
What’s the difference if we played them last night and won or Dec 1st and win??
6 wins is 6 wins...I’ve said from the beginning of the year that I wanted Nebraska to have already won 6 games by the time they invade Iowa City and I was already counting Akron as one of those wins..
Normally I'd agree 100% Dingle, but this particular year the extra bowl practices are critical for development towards next year. So even if it takes beating Akron to get to 6 wins, we need it.
We'll get there without Akron. No problem. Watching our team warm up last night I saw what others have been saying for weeks. We are a different team than we've been for decades now. We are going to pound on people.
100% agree...if we only win 5 of the next 11...let our staff spend that month recruiting hard to replace the guys were currently got, because it requires a full overhaul. The only times we have only won 5 the wheels completely came off the wagon...we've still have a bunch of mediocre teams on the schedule.
IF we only get 5 wins without Akron, something went terribly wrong..as in a major injury. We'll be fine if Martinez stays healthy. No worries.
This team needs to play someone in a bowl game and you have to win 6 games.. Case closed..
I agree that is ideal. I don't think we have any problem winning 6 without Akron. I also think we're going to have a directional school signed for a huge payday for that October open date within the next 2 weeks.
It does sound like Moos is looking into finding us another game. Maybe I misread his statement or something like that. But to me, I agree, It sounded like he’s at least looking into find us another game...even if it’s not Akron.
If you aren't bowl eligible yet, and play on Dec 1st, you gain another week of practice that you wouldn't get without that game on the schedule if your season ends the day after Thanksgiving.
