UCLA's debut under Chip Kelly got off to a rough start. The Bruins fell to Cincinnati 26-17 at home, and starting quarterback Wilton Speight went to the locker room with a back injury. Speight, a transfer from Michigan, had just 45 yards passing and an interception. Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over at quarterback and didn't given the offense a spark at all. The Bruins finished with just 306 yards -- not exactly what you'd expect from a Kelly offense.

It isn't just one game to me, it's ever since he left Oregon, it's kinda been a down hill spiral, but you are right in the sense it's just one game so far this year and there's plenty of time to right the ship.

If I were a betting man though, I'd bet it won't end well.

He does not have the personnel to run his system at UCLA at all. Speight was awful at Michigan and no one was scared of him transferring to UCLA. With that said, UCLA had 5 guys suspended including Jamobo and 2 other starters. DTR was a big pickup for UCLA. Similar to Nebraska getting Martinez but perhaps more so for Chip's system. He will be better as the season goes on, but just a freshman so there will be growing pains.

People seem to forget his debut at Oregon he got embarrassed by Boise State and the Blount punch. Had anyone watched the game they would have seen his qb got injured and his true freshman backup turned the ball over a couple times. Chip will succeed quickly in Pasadena and will be dominating the Pac 12 in no time.
