McCaffrey completed 12 of 13 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns while playing about half the snaps during Valor Christian's 30-6 victory over Ponderosa. McCaffrey also ran for three yards on three carries.

For the season, McCaffrey is 24 of 34 passing for 328 yards and three TDs with no interceptions. He has run for 120 yards on 16 carries.

Valor Christian is 2-0.

“Rahmir (Johnson) is kind of our Mr. Outside and boy did he man up,” said victorious and dehydrated Bergen Catholic head coach Vito Campanile. “At the end of the game I asked him do you want [to run] outside zone or do you want power? And he’s like, ‘I want 46 power’ just like you said your first day here.”

But when Grayson started to make plays (they really were good), Bergen Catholic had to show it had power. Without Josh McKenzie, the biggest question facing the Crusaders might have been, how do they grind out the clock? Johnson, a Nebraska commitment, made it happen, even though he’s not the physical specimen McKenzie is. Johnson wasn’t Mr. Outside. He was Mr. Workhorse, finishing with 28 carries for 129 yards and two scores.

“[After Josh got hurt] coach took me over to the side one day at practice and said Rahmir, can you handle 25, 30 carries,” Johnson said. “I said, ‘coach, I came to Bergen for a reason. I got you.’”

They didnt beat Pomona. They don’t play until next week. Pomona vs Valor will be a repeat of the last 2 or 3 state championship games. I’ll probably go to that one. Pomona is my team. Valor has a future Husker, but rooting for them is like rooting for Darth Vader.

Valor game- My sons’ buddy and neighbor scores on a 50 yd TD pass for Ponderosa. McCaffrey did not play all the snaps for some reason. Ponderosa is not a very good team this year having lost to Parker Legend the first week (Tate Wildeman’s team).

Cajon must be loaded with talent this year. They scored 43 points in the first half. I think we have offered 3 kids from that school. I know we were shutting it down after taking McCaffrey, but with Gebbia leaving maybe we should take another look at Daniels? Heard he is a Utah lean, and it makes sense considering his 6'9" WR teammate committed to them recently.
