Zach Smith has clearly shown himself to be a person with little to no actual character. He showed with multiple visits for law enforcement, his cheating with a staff member at KSU, his spending habits and having those mailed to his place of work, let alone his Clintonesqe actions while at the WH on a visit. All of that said, the decision on if UM keeps his job and his wife keeps hers, since she knew of the abuse allegations via text messages, is how much was passed up the chain of command and how much documentation can be presented to cover their collective asses.

UM is and has almost always seemed to be as slimy as fresh pond scum. But since he wins at a very high rate, he can make it appear and gets lots of help to reinforce a positive image. Does he deserve to be fired, very probably yes, because if he didn’t know of so many of these different actions taken by Smith he lacked overall control of his staff. If he did know and allowed him to continue on staff, then can parents really expect UM to make decisions that in any way prepare their son, his players for life off the field and post football?

The reality is that he will likely be kept. He will be kept because of the large payout to leave and the desire to win on the field. Everything else is in the rear mirror off in the distance behind the laundry list of former players whom UM allowed to be led with the same direction UM allowed Smith to become the person he is under UMs leadership.

No coach is perfect but if such actions and his past can happen over and over without getting changes in place to prevent or at the very least make oversight faster to catch, it’s time to step down as a coach. JMO

As a consolation prize, at least NU got a win over interim HC Fickell and Joe "14 Gauge" Bauserman while that mess was sorting itself out.

I propose a compromise: Meyer gets to keep his job, but Bauserman must return as a grad student and be the Buckeyes' starting QB for the entire season.

What better way for Ohio State to show that it's not a win-at-any-cost program?

I've been telling you guys from the 2nd day on that Urban wasn't going anywhere. They started the spin control the day after this broke. His paid leave was just a cool off period to let the news cycle die down. Just like at MSU, Urban isn't going anywhere.

Putting him on paid leave made things much worse for both Ohio State and Urban Meyer. Without him on administrative leave, any talk of firing him would have been miniscule and died down in a few hours. Instead they put him on leave and had an investigation to allow for this to fester on for 3 more weeks and 3 more weeks Ohio State was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Heard on the radio and this is totally unverified as far as I know, but they said allegedly Urban Meyer said IF they suspended him he would not comply.
