Bell, Tre (if healthy), Zig, Wilbon, Jaylin and now MW. Next year 2 or 3 others come on board. Jaylin could be the odd guy out.

Really good quantity and decent quality. Maybe Bell gets a shot on Sundays. We still lack a true game changer. We won’t scare anyone.

Ozigbo can play a role on this team in the backfield and not have our running game be considered "average". I'm not suggesting that he is an every down homerun kind of player, but he has a knack of finding openings and getting tough yards. That can be important, specifically around the goal line.
He did himself some favors in the spring game IMHO. There were at least three times I can remember he was stopped for no gain, kept churning, and made decent gains. Two of them I believe were for 1st downs. Homerun hitter the new staff likes? I don't think so. Someone who can come into the game and assert authority? No doubt. I hope this staff uses him and not just on the goal line and third and short.

Then our running game will be average.

We need to move on from all the Rbs here before Frost.

Play the New guys. Big picture has to be looked at THIS year.
A healthy Tre Bryant is the best back in that entire room period! He's shifty, both fast and quick, and has power to go along with everything else in already in his arsenal. Tre also has the best set of eyes out of any other back in that RB room.

I agree that Ozigbo is a gamer. He simply can make plays. What I worry about it his ability to get started in the hole. He doesn't find the creases and gets tripped up too easily. I also don't see him running well on anything to the outside. So he's limited, but is there a role for him? I would say so. I wouldn't be surprised to see others passing him by though. That happened last year and everyone is back, plus a bunch of new talent added to the mix.

I agree. But will Bryant ever truly be "healthy"? Even Frost said in his presser that they will use Bryant, but also keep a close eye on his health. That says to me that even a year out from his surgery he is still a touch and go type of situation. His knees suck. Period. So he might be good for 7 or 8 runs a game, but will probably never be an every down kind of back

From what Held said, they want a running back that can play 6,7 or 8 plays in a row so they don’t have to slow down the tempo to substitute so other teams can't substitute as well to slow down the tempo.

Still think Bell will start and look for Miles Jones to contribute substantially from the Duck R position.

The most carries, in a single game that, the a rusher at UCF had last year, had last year I think was 15. Plenty of guys will get touches.

I like what Ozigbo can bring to the mix for his power (only shared % of carries), but the bigger picture here is that regardless of how the snaps get distributed we got OPTIONS... and the cream will rise in this stiff competition for playing time. Whoever is out there is who coaches feel gives us the best chance. It’s gonna be good as long as O-line does their part which is critical obviously.

Neither Ozigbo nor Wilbon have the skill set to be a running back at Nebraska. I would not count on Tre for anything. He's not going to be durable for any season.

I think SF is being nice by letting those guys ride out their time here.

Bradley needs development

Bell is only going to be here 1 year, and he is clearly better than anyone we have seen on the roster at the moment.

If Bell isn't getting into the groove, then I'm not sure who you play.. I can't conceive giving the ball to either of the seniors. You have to go to Bradley and the 2 freshmen.

To me, this is a weakness in SF, he's trying to be nice to the skill players, and hey he's been there before, so I can understand it, but you can't let someone like Bell disintegrate before the season starts because you are letting a bunch of RB rot continue to fester in the room.

CUT those senior guys.

According to the press guide Bell is a Junior not a Senior, so he will be here two years.

Lol we're already under 85 for scholarships I believe. What would be the point in cutting guys who can contribute? We have decent backs, there's just not anything special about a lot of them.

The point I guess I was trying to make is that if the # of guys in that room is causing issues, to the point where you could lose the best guy you have for this year, then maybe lightening the room helps keep the peace.
