Didn’t want him anyway. 500 mile radius is bull ****.

What else am I missing?
I know nothing of this kid so I have no idea if this is a loss or not.

And I agree that the 500 mile thing is overrated. If you can get quality guys from 1500 miles away then do it.
But I don't think the 500 mile thing is ********. Those within that radius are close enough for family and friends to drive to most home games, or fly easily and cheaply. It also indicates that there might be a cultural comfort zone. Not as much of a shock for an Iowa kid to come to Lincoln as a Miami kid. Ditto with the weather.

Well said sir. I too think all other things being equal gives a very real benefit of a natural mid-west cultural comfort zone "and" a reasonable expense and time to drive to Lincoln to see their son play if they live within 500 miles.

I hardly think that's ********.
