I've been a member of this site for what seems like forever and I don't think I've ever had to post something like this. This morning I lost my mom. She was 56. She was my best friend and did everything for me and my grandparents. Up until 3 days ago she was fine. Went to bed and basically never woke up. She was breathing fine but stopped breathing this morning while being evaluated for a potential liver transplant. No one had any idea. Toughest day of my life. Just remember to hug those you love, tell them you love them ans live every day like it's the last because you never know when it could be.

I'm sad to hear this news. I'm glad that you've asked us for support. Lean on us to support that great weight of sorrow. You are not alone. Remember all the good times that you had with your mother and know that someday you'll be reunited with her once again. I send my prayers up and ask God to comfort you in your time of need.

My deepest sympathies. My wife's mother passed away suddenly at 52, just a few weeks after our first child was born. A year ago, my wife realized she had just outlived her mother. No doubt, difficult days lay ahead, but you will get through it. Lean on God and your faith, and day by day you find comfort and solace from your faith, from those around you and in your many memories.

Thank you all and im sorry to those that have also lost parents young. It's tough to wrap your head around honestly. I'm in the apartment that she shared with my grandma keeping a watchful eye on her. It was a surprisingly easy day. I know there will be bad days but righy now enjoying time with family is helping men get through

I'm sorry for your loss. Your mom died way too young. Your words at the end of your post are very true and it's something we all have to remember each day.

So sorry to hear of your mothers passing, Metal. I know as time goes on it will ease the pain of her loss, especially all the good times and things your mother did for you and your family that you will recall. Sounds like she put a lot of living and love into yours and your grandparents lives, she will be with you all the days of your life.

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”

I meant to respond yesterday and I lost track... I’ve often said that this board has been an incredible place to share both great news and tough, as well as the obvious love of our Huskers. And this is no different.Blessings of comfort to you, and great memories and renewed purpose for your own life.....
