Not a surprise. He was predicted to land at OU and they had been in the lead for a while. He liked the idea of DE in a 4-3 more than OLB in a 3-4.

Doesn't Oklahoma run a 3-4?

Is it a hybread system, since they play in Big 12?

I have noticed they use a DT with a NG, then one of the OLB plays either a 4-3 or 3-4 depending on opponent.

Iowa State has messed with it, as well.

Different approaches to the 3-4, since one linemen is a true DE at OU.

Typical 3-4 set is a NT flanked by two DEs, like Wisconsin and many SEC programs.

OU crushing it on the recruiting trail. Bummer to lose on Hicks, but hopefully we stay on him. You never know.

Big loss. This is the type of talent you need to reel in from the 500-mile radius.

They are. We don’t win many against the top 20 teams, but we need to start to. Especially the ones in Kansas for crying out loud.

Big loss, but hard to blame the kid. OU just appeared in the CFB playoff (their second in three years) and had the Heisman winner. Also...

Wichita to Lincoln: 275 miles
Wichita to Norman: 177 miles

So yeah, he's within our 500-miles radius, but proximity also wasn't in our favor here.

Well he isn’t going to be a traditional 4-3 hand in the dirt rush end in Norman.
