Not doubting the info...but why in the world would North Carolina agree to play Nebraska in souix falls? There’s nothing attractive about that for any power 5 team much less North Carolina

NCAA tournament simulation.

Eric in Scottsdale is a twitter troll. UNC is not going to play a neutral site game in Sioux Falls against Nebrasketball.

I would guess it's South Dakota State. With Daum coming back, they will be pretty good next year. Iowa State would be the other team that might make sense geographically.

This is an annual game played at the Sanford Pentagon. Last year it was Iowa vs Colorado. Roy Williams and North Carolina will play games in the area as a payback to Iowa or SD kids who went to Carolina like Harrison Barnes or Marcus Paige. UNC played in Cedar Falls vs Northern Iowa in 2015.

Games so far at the Sanford Pentagon
Iowa St vs Colorado
Minnesota vs Vanderbilt
Wisconsin vs St. John's
Iowa vs Colorado
It's not much of a stretch to see Nebraska as the next team.

UNC doesn't currently have any players from the area. So I don't think it's them.

Nebraska would never play SDSU in Sioux Falls for similar reasons UNC would never play Nebraska in Sioux Falls.

I'm betting it will be a Big 12 or Pac 12 program.

While I take the UNC claim with a grain of salt, Roy like to play games every few years in unusual areas to keep the UNC name out there in places that might have 4-5 star kids in the future. With Iowa producing those sorts of kids with some regularity a Sioux Falls game isn't completely crazy.

Assuming there will be a B1G - ACC challenge this year, NU and UNC both finished 4th in their league last year. If they use that as a way to determine the match ups....

But for God’s sake, if you’re going to play UNC, do it it Lincoln or go to Chapel Hill.

Agreed, if they’re paired up for the B1G/ ACC challenge it won’t be In Sioux Falls S.D.

Not quite. Roy likes to make sure all recruits have a "home game". No current or future (committed) Heels are from that area.

Just saw a tweet that it appears to be a former Big 8 team, probably Iowa State or K-State, and the most likely date is December 21st. May be a cold drive up there but we'll see what's going on.

BS on Eric in Scottsdale. Get a life.
Here are some of my favorites:
According to articles, Travis is expected to end up at Kentucky.

Um, they didn't even qualify for the conference tourney.

I don't even need to comment on this one.

It was pretty well known that NU wouldn't pursue Burrow and he ended up at LSU and none of those schools.

Goedert went 49th to the Eagles.

Lee went in the 6th round.

Roby never entered the NBA draft. He submitted his name for an evaluation.

Suggs is a 5 star basketball prospect. He hasn't committed to NU(soon as Eric put it).

He committed to TCU.

Belichick never retired.

Ummmmmm...........

Bob Debacle ended up at OU as an analyst.

The dude is batting well below the Mendoza line and this is just the first few tweets I looked at from Eric.

I'd have to find it, but I suggested Nebraska try to schedule SDSU in Sioux Falls, Sioux City, or Omaha for next season on this board months ago, because Nebraska has to think outside the box with scheduling.

SDSU ended up with an RPI of 37 last year. A quad 1 win on a "Neutral" court (if the criteria doesn't change) is RPI 1-50. I'd take the bet that SDSU would more likely than not end up top 50 again next year.

Would Sioux Falls be a "Neutral" court? Probably not. But I'd be really freaking ashamed if Nebraska would be too chicken**** to play them if that opportunity presented itself. I can't say I like the selection committee's numbers game, but it is what it is, so play it. We saw what happened last year when Nebraska didn't. Nebraska for numerous reasons has to take some chances with scheduling.

I'd be happy with a Big 12 opponent, but a Pac 12? I hope it'd be Oregon. I'd drive there for that one.

Ya well Iowa played Colorado there last December I'm sure they would have had better venues to play in as well.

I'm not complaining about the venue, I'm just talking geographically. Our fan base will be a whole lot closer to SF than theirs, so that's a plus. I just hope our fan base travels to it.

I've said before, I'd like to see Nebraska try to utilize KC more for neutral site games, as it is a good recruiting area to hit.

Okie St loses their Top 3 scorers from last year. This is a team we should beat on a neutral court. Yet they should still have a decent RPI because of the strength of schedule of the Big 12. This is good scheduling.

I know about the home games. The Northern Iowa loss a few years back was a "home game" for a senior. But Roy has also stated he likes to schedule road games in areas outside the southeast and east to keep the UNC brand in front of HS's outside the UNC comfort zone.

The Huskers will play 2 games in KC next November for the CBE Classic.
