How do conditions to offers work?

With over 300 now known offers going out for 2019, what is the plan to weed out those who don't pass the assessment phase? What if a guy wants to commit right now and the staff finds out later they can get a better, faster and top player? Please chime in if you have any pertinent info.

Frost said he won't pull a scholarship if they took the commitment. So if they get a better, faster and top player, it won't be at the expense of the guy who committed.

Many of the 300 will weed themselves out. I know it is hard to believe, but some kids, with offers, have no interest in playing football at Nebraska.

So of the 300, probably 100-150 have a real mutual interest.

This. And the staff "cuts" the list too.

Offers are cool to hear about, but all that means is there is a verbal interest.

Just to give you an real world example.

There is a QB down here in the greater Houston area, named Gipson, that has an offer from Nebraska. Verduzco was just down here watching him throw. Gipson has an offer from Virginia and is going there on an official visit. He wants to go to Lincoln as well, but Nebraska only has 2 official visits left to use before the count resets in August. One could assume that if the top QB on the board wanted to use an official visit right now, that the visit would take place, even with the low number of visits available.

Quick feet and quick thinking is required out of the QB. For skill the number one thing they look for is verifiable speed. They want guys to run track so the speed is known. You can not fake a timed 100 in a track race like a football coach can in a testing situation.....most 40 times are fake unless it comes from SPARQ. Those 100 times you seee in tra ck results are real.

Maybe I just need clarification. I see the list of players who are offered. I often wonder why the 2-star kids and low 3-star kids who only have Nebraska as a decent team offering don't immediately accept. I suspect that offers are contingent on other factors, like, "we are interested in you, but don't accept our offer until we give you the go, because there are a lot of guys higher on our list we are hoping for first." Any truth to that? With 300 offers, how do we get the best possible players?
