He was at the Nike Opening down in Dallas over the weekend. Scored higher than Marcus Hicks for testing.

4.8 40 (should easily get that to a high 4.6 in college)

30.4 vertical

4.25 agility

104.82 was his total score

4.88 40 for Marcus Hicks
4.7 agility

From a pure athletic standpoint, Snodgrass has a better profile to work with and develop.

Both are great athletes

Hicks is 6-6. 241 ran 4.88
Snodgtass is 6-3. 217 ran 4.80

Great to have Snodgrass committed.

Im not sure you can conclude based on a score of 100 vs 104 that one has better potential for athletic development. The numbers are too close.

Hicks is amazing on the field and is one of our top recruits - battling OSU, OU, ND, Michigan, Texas, Washington, etc for his services

Notice they had him listed as a TE. Is that where he will most likely start his career at Nebraska?

One shows better lateral movement than the other. That means one can play sideline to sideline or change direction better/quicker.

Remember that we are not recruiting Hicks as a DE, but an OLB. I see Snodgrass as an ILB at the next level.

perhaps it would be better to make relative comparisons between Snodgrass and an aTm or Texas recruit that we aren't recruiting or maybe a 2017 signee rather than one of our current top prospects

this thread has a high probability of devolving into a Hicks vs Snodgrass debate which isn't going to be productive

easy to make the case that Snodgrass is a great athlete without the comparison

Did you see the picture of Hicks standing next to Scott Frost when he visited? The kid is a legit physical specimen. Absolute must get.

I doubt it, unless Jurgens moves to defense. Plus, if we can land Hickman in this class, he's a tight end as well. Snodgrass would be much better utilized on defense IMO.

Are those 40 times on grass with pads, or on hard surface track? If the later, those are slow times for lb or te.

He scored in the 99th percentile of everyone there. So I'd say he did pretty well.

Very good score but wasn’t in the top 30 at that camp. So unless there was 30,000 participants at the camp not sure he was 99% percentile.

I believe the number represents the percentile of players in his class from all of the places with official Nike tests.

Not sure where you plug in a player with his skill set considering who we have and who else we might get for either TE or ILB. A #217 pound kid that runs 4.8 does not jump off the chart so to speak, heart will only go so far.

He still has a whole year of high school left. Then wait until Duval gets a hold of him for a couple years.

Remember that Luke Gifford wasn't even 200 pounds coming out of high school.

I bet Hicks ends up at OU or Michigan.

This kid is still growing. Those numbers are more than fine, and his pro-agility is legit.

Glenn Snodgrass is also the york strength and conditioning coach. Garrett is a workout warrior, and it is no doubt his program is huge reason for Yorks success in all sports.
