Oregon => Frost offense has always focused on the run first. But they use spread principles to open up space to run the ball. It happens to make throwing easier too. But you need dudes with wheels in skill positions, QB mobility, and oline that can move enough to execute the plays. He ain't talking about lining 'em up to see who's bigga.

We won't know anything about whether it's probably championship or definitely championship until we hear how many BBQs the team has together this summer.

LOL. His offense changing substantially>
He said he wanted to establish the run, not run it a majority of plays. His offenses have always been able to run the football effectively. I think that is what he means here too. You have to keep a defense honest by making them play assignment sound and to cover you sideline to sideline and end zone to end zone. And you need an effective running game to be able to do that. You make it sound like he has been running Spurrier's fun and gun with empty backfields and passes on 80% of plays. He hasn't been. If you have really been paying attention to his offenses then there is no way you can say he is changing his offense "substantially" if he seeks to establish a solid running game.

How will SF offense compare to NW offense? It seems like NW spreads teams out and tries to establish the run with a good RB and a dual threat QB.

People are going to crap when they see Frost's offense throw the ball 30+ times per game. "I thought Scott Frost said he was going to RUN THE DAMN BALL."

They should pay better attention or look up some stats. It wasn’t uncommon to see UCF throw the ball on 3rd and short.

pace, route combos, motions, you name it. It just isn't very similar other than they both spread you out.
So no huddle but not looking to the sideline for an alternate play? Obviously route combos are gonna be different per coach. NW doesn’t run motions? I’m seeing people tout it as some new fangled offense with trying to establish the run. Note: I didn’t get to watch UCF this year. I would assume the offense looked similar to NW but with better athletes.

Don’t assume that. I Agree with the previous poster in that You Tube is a good source to watch some UCF games. You can see the Oregon offense in his UCF offense, but you can also see where Frost has expanded the number of plays that can be run out of the same formations by using motion and other slight changes

The offense at its base isnt very difficult, the beauty is in the ability to get the defense to react to what they think is coming and adjust, which creates a numbers mismatch for the offense.

There are. Lot of good articles out there that will detail what how he has evolved what they did at Oregon.

The offense creates mismatches in space, if paired with skill guys with wheels, chunk plays are routine.

It’s basically Oregon ball with some tweaks to make it more difficult to get a read on. It’s not uncommon to see Frost pull an entire offensive line or multiple at the same time or motion men in to the backfield and there is nothing saying who will get the ball in cases like that.

Yep. He's keeping the Florida plates on his wife's Chevy Volt that they'll use down there when they're staying at the house they're keeping in Orlando.Winking True story.

Yep, a lot of good stuff out there on Frost’s offense. It started as the Oregon offense, but then added shifts to disguise things and more blocking schemes and rpo’s. It’s a really good scheme, but is much different than anything we have run before. We are going to have to get used to open backfields on short yardage situations, occasional negative plays, etc .

shouldn't be hard to acclimate to seeing negative plays
