...so I won't......
Just like Charlie Brown going to finally kick the football and Lucy yanks it away in the last secondOnce again Husker hoops holds true to historical form. I repeat: until Nebraska basketball proves to me that it is worth a ****, I will remain a hardened and cynical skeptic. Call me ignorant. Tell me I don't know what I am talking about. Tell me my views are ********. I don't care. I have followed this program for 52 years. And every year it is just a variation on the theme of suck. Some years we have sucked less than others. Like this year. A fun season. Gave us a glimmer of hope. Showed some promise. Then... when it mattered... like every other year... suck.
But I don't think Miles should be fired. Our best coach and recruiter since Nee. Maybe he can get us over the hump. Got a good recruiting class going. But until he actually wins something that matters I will remain an old and cranky curmudgeon when it comes to Husker hoops
Ha. Good example.Just like Charlie Brown going to finally kick the football and Lucy yanks it away in the last second

Sure. So where are those "elite recruits" we need? I agree with ya though. The problem is other teams have better players than we do. Every year. For decades. We just need better players and we can win. Why didn't I think of that? It's ******** to say same ol' thing. What Moe Iba did or Danny Nee or Sadler or anybody else has zero affect on today's team. Do you honestly think the current players give two shakes about what happened in 1917 or 1952 or 1981? They only know the team they are on now.
A couple of elite recruits and Nebraska could be deep in the tournament every year. The name on their jersey has no impact on that.

That’s kind of true sadlyThose are the operative words, but those elite recruits have a 99.5% chance of never showing up in Lincoln with the current coach, sadly.
The odds might be a little bit better now that maybe the shoe cash will have to stop. IF recruiting gets a little cleaner maybe schools like NU will have a better chance at getting some guys who want to know they are going to play early. That’s kind of true sadly

This. I think college hoops has been corrupt for a long, long time. I think it is one of the reasons we have been historically awful. There are a handful of programs that have refused to go down that road and they too have been historically awful. The odds might be a little bit better now that maybe the shoe cash will have to stop. Miles team surprised me this year and was really looking forward to the B1G tournament and doing some damage, instead we were the only team to come into New York and not show up....
Miles needs to get in the NCAA next year and if not we need to move on we now have to good of resources not to succeed in Basketball in the B1G.
The few times Tim has had the chance to prove himself in meaningful games I have come away scratching my head and saying wow, just wow, screwed the pooch again.
Teams need to have strong leaders on the court to win those games that matter. You saw that from Michigan and not from NU in that game. I love Watson, but when he starts getting banged around and gets in pressure situations, he has struggled mightily. When he struggles, we struggle. We need another true point guard with Evan Taylor's kind of physical presence and toughness. NU consistently this year struggled in games against teams with strong physical defensively aggressive guards starting with St. Johns and ending with UM.The few times Tim has had the chance to prove himself in meaningful games I have come away scratching my head and saying wow, just wow, screwed the pooch again.
