I'll be surprised if Copeland returns either. He'll be 23 years old and have his college degree, he'd be wise to go overseas and make money playing while he's still young.

I don't see a lot of Husker on this team that can create their own shot and bury it in the NBA. Or become a deadly 3pt shooter. A few can certainly defend there. I hope everyone returns and continues to develop.

Regardless of whether he leaves, we need an influx of talent.

We could be in the catbird's seat with all the FBI investigations going on. I certainly hope we aren't paying anybody to play. IF so, that would be more ludicrous than wanking before entry to a strip club.

Palmer needs to cut down on turnovers and Copeland needs to play better D before going pro. That’s just me talking out of my ***, because I’m greedy and want them to stay.

To answer the original question, there is not a player on the bench to replace JPJ.

Some guys stick around for a senior season - see Marcus Foster at Creighton. But I agree most leave. Let’s see how things shake out. I hold out hope those guys return but if not, the offense will feature Isiah Roby, which isn’t all bad.

Heck Khyri Thomas is being projected as a 1st rounder. I know he plays legit D, but I guess I don’t know how he could be rated that much higher than JPJ?

Because he plays better offense also..this is a joke right?

I don’t know if he plays better on the offensive end, but, I don’t think CU needs him to as badly as Nebraska needs JPJ to on the offensive end. KT is scoring 15 a game, but I think he certainly could score more if needed. I certainly see why KT is a potential 1st rounder.

One of the most exciting events in all of sports is the NCAA tourney - it is very hard to recruit if you can’t sell NCAA tourney appearances

If I am a high level recruit I’m not going anywhere I don’t have a reasonable chance to play in the NCAA tourney almost every year.

One thing that NU may have going for them is the fact that JPJ promised his mom that he would get his degree. I don't know where he stands as far as his progress towards his degree.
Somebody who projects as a 2nd rounder would be very wise to finish his degree first. The odds are very high that a 2nd round draft pick will be depending on his non-basketball skills to put food on the table shortly after leaving school.
