It all comes down to this. Senior day in Lincoln with the collision of two of the more surprising stories in Big Ten basketball.

Penn State features sharp shooter Tony Carr while Nebraska counters with James Palmer.

Nebraska has looked tight the past few games but has emerged with solid wins over Maryland and Indiana sandwiched around a disappointing loss at Illinois.

Pretty much, any hopes of an NCAA berth (sans a deep run in the conference tournament), require a win today.

I was a bit surprised by the spread with Watkins being ruled out.

I have a hard time turning against Nebraska especially at home, so I’d lay the points and hope for a final home winner in a packed Pinnacle Arena.

Should be a fun one.

I like the Huskers chances today. I think the fact that he was a no-show at Penn State is still a thorn in Palmer's side, and he'll have some extra motivation for this game.

I hope it’s the fact that he was a no-show and not the fact that Penn State knows how to neutralize him. Let’s not forget this Penn State team held a 16 point advantage over Nebraska. I hope the fact that we got to OT was more because Nebraska is talented and not a fluke.

Eh, I love Palmer but that night he just seemed like he wasn't ready to play. That's why we ended up with the Jack McVeigh Experience. (Ugh - 21 minutes that seemed like a lifetime...)

The spread to me appears to be the product that people believe Penn State is a sleeper if it can get a conference tourney run and Nebraska is a fluke. Have heard rumbles of this in past weeks and as recently as this morning from Jerry Palm. There also seems to be some betting acknowledgement that Nebraska keeps games close, both to the positive and the negative.

In my opinion, Nebraska’s chances to make damage today, in the conf tourney and possibly beyond, all come down to Watson. Yes of course we need Palmer and Cope to keep playing at a high level. And Roby has found a great deal of confidence. But I believe Watson can use his dribble drive to help create shots for the others. He needs to not settle for swinging the ball around and occasionally creating his own shot. We need him to break defenses down because teams are already locked in on stopping Palmer.

If we can get production out of Watson, this team can be dangerous.

Agree with this, and I agree that Watson doesn't need to score a lot to be productive. He's much better when he's focused on distributing the ball instead of finding shots for himself. Last year NU needed points from him if they were going to compete - this year they really don't.

Well there can be rumbles but the facts show that Nebraska is the best cover team in the country. That doesn’t align with continual low spreads especially when it appears 87% of action is on them.

We’ve had blown some big leads early, but that is Basketball a game of runs, but they have kept their composure at times and have won some games comfortably.

Last time we played our big man didn’t travel and today there’s is out with injury a little reverse situations. I also see that Okeke is going to start over Roby( OWH).

Crowd will help the cause today and hopefully it won’t come down to last second shot by either team.

That was a solid win today over Penn State, everyone did their part, the players really hustled to get the victory, crowd was in it the whole way. Great team effort!

Or..

Geezus, how could they lose this game like that? I swear, every time we think this team is going to get it done, disaster strikes again. What a missed opportunity.

Which will it be? I'm thinking the first analysis will happen. :)

Evan Taylor is my key player for the game. Looking for him to step up on senior day. Watson just has to take care of the ball, play good defense, and abstain from taking long two-point shots.

Nice! This team is young. Please come back guys. It's fun watching them move it around. A first in the Miles Era.

The defense is playing fantastic right now. Need to keep attacking the rim and stop settling for deep 3's on the offensive end.

Not sure how that wasn't a foul on Penn st on the lob to Jordy. He was all over Jordy's back and had his hand on his shoulder.

Yeah, Jordy missed the dunk. Yeah, Glen missed the layup. It doesn't matter. They keep on pushing.

Hopefully PSU packs it in to get home early. That was an ugly half from them but makes it a little more comfortable at half.
