If Nebraska was fortunate to get a 5* signing in the next class, what position do think would provide the best enhancement to the overall team for winning games based on the current players?

What Position on Offense?

What Position on Defense?

Offense and Defense start with line play. It is what has been lacking the last so many years. I believe we have some talent there but we need a huge get on both sides of the ball this year for sure!

Good thread.

Has to be QB on offense. Only Alabama can win with a mediocre QB.

Safety on D.

I'm going to attempt an analogy... at the race track there is always a guy who has a 800 horsepower car, he cannot keep it hooked up and always runs crappy times. His response, more power.... You guys are that guy. You have 4 star qb's but think a 5 is what you need, you have 4 star wr, but think that will help, you have 4 star stud rbs, and are picking a rb. Until you guys can stop the sister Mary's school for the blind on a halfback dive on 3rd and 2 consistently or have your qb take a snap without a slight fear if getting killed that 5 star Qb is worthless.

Answer: DT or left tackle. Those are what would improve Nebraska the most.

So you’re saying we have no 4 star linemen on either side of the ball?

Yet he was still the greatest DT to play at Nebraska..
Can't dispute that. Not a 5* and needed To to get the best out of him. Heck Marlon Lucky was a 5* and don't think could put him in top 5 of Nebraska running backs

Al star running backs can make a world of difference in a team. Look at Wisconsin with Taylor. I’m under the assumption that Martinez or Gebbia will be strong at the QB position which is why I went with the RB. I understand wanting an O lineman but the whole line needs to be cohesive. One talent won’t win or lose games for us but a QB or RB can.

What about baker
Baker was recruited as an offensive lineman and should have stayed there. They were thin at DT so off he went.

I have said it before and will say it again: if you want evidence for what a lazy and worthless recruiter Pelini was look no further than the DT position. Right before Bo came here he coached the great DT Dorsey at LSU. And then he gets here and coaches the most celebrated and decorated DT of all time. And yet, after Suh graduated, we couldn't turn that into recruiting success at that position. Biggest missed opportunity of Pelini's career

I agree 100% I always will wonder how good baker could have been if he would stayed on the offensive line. Yes bozo was lazy but I'll say again so was frank he dropped down from competing against Texas and Oklahoma for recruiting to Iowa state and ksucks simply because it was easier

Lineman, DT above other positions. But if Suh was a 4 star then I'd offer all those 4 stars. Strength, speed, and a mean mean motor.

Frank wasnt the most imaginative offensive mind either. He didn’t know how to play chess out on the football field like Tom did.
