According to reasoning from TV commentators.

B1G guys: If Nebraska had beat Kansas, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Huskers either on the bubble or out of the tournament.

2 points making the difference whether you make the tournament or not???

Unfortunately yes, the KU game is the difference between being in and out at this point. Moral victories don't count. It wasn't a "bad loss", but a resume win like this is often a huge factor in the eyes of the committee.

Yep. Who did you play, who did you beat. This isn't horseshoes or hand grenades unfortunately.

Yep, it wasn't a "bad loss", it is bad that it was a loss, when it was oh so close to a win.

And don’t make me say it again...posted enough.

We should we win the rest of our regular season games (PSU a little worried about) and then play our way in the dance in New York.

The B1G is going to get 4 teams in the dance. The question is team #4...Nebraska or Michigan?

Whoever does better in the conf tourney likely punches the ticket imo...

We lost to Kansas - It's going to be the difference - therefore it's considered a bad loss . . . same as all the other losses.

Being the devils advacate here but Nebraska didn’t get a chance to play MSU,tOSU and Purdue ( top 3 teams in the conference)at home either the schedule hurt not playing one of these teams back at home.

Quit crying everyone. Nebraska is going to finish 23-8 and 14-4 in the league. They won't be left out. And KU is STILL going to win the Big 12 again.

By the end of February, Nebraska will have gone 16-4 since losing to KU by 1 on a last second three, and 12-2 since inserting Roby into the starting lineup.

The committee still uses an Human Eye Test element. They aren't going to leave out a Big Ten team with that type of momentum from the last 3 months of the season.

12-2 since Roby inserted in starting lineup. Wish Miles has started him earlier in season. What if scenario now.

Unreal. We keep winning, and all I see is "if only we'd beaten Kansas". We didn't. I'm having the most fun watching a Nebraska athletic team that I've had in 10+ years. Who could be watching this team right now and not believe that we're going to the tourney? This group won't be denied.

Now, what do we need to do to get a Tyler Cook, Jordan Murphy, Bruno Fernando, Ethan Happ, etc. for next year. Every team we play it seems like their big guy has a career game!?! Maybe the game plan is to let the 5 eat and shut everything else down?

I've said it before, but if we could get Mike Daum as a grad transfer next year and Palmer stays, we'd have a chance to win the Big Ten. Daum probably isn't likely, but I hope Miles can find a grad transfer big man inside that actually has any offensive skill. You'd think a lot of guys would see us as a very attractive option for a grad transfer, especially seeing how other transfers have flourished here. There's also the 6'10 Croatian JUCO kid in Wyoming that we offered last fall, he's supposedly been tearing it up there.

How about someone who has actually read the selection criteria and listened to the committee chairman give rationale as to why the top 16 teams were listed where they are?

I don't think that's always the game plan, but I do think it was the plan last night. Fernando had a pretty big game, but I think Miles felt keeping the Terps' perimeter game in check was a much bigger priority.

Are we still out today? I would have thought last nights W, would move us to the right side of the line. Just win out in the regular season, I can't imagine a 23-win B1G team being left out.

Sorry, meant they will be 10 -2 during that span, and 10 -0 when Jordy was actually a back up off the bench.

I wonder if we would have beaten Penn St if we had Jordy and Miles didn't bench Palmer for overtime. I know we made a comeback without Palmer in that game, but I think he could have made a difference in OT.

Sadly No we are not, I am completely disgusted by the brackets I've been seeing. We will most likely be in 20ish brackets on bracketmatrix.com

I want to see the committee explain if we have a better overall record than Michigan, beat them by two games in the conference standings and drilled them in the only head to head matchup— how do they even think about putting them in ahead of us???

Both should be in easy. This "B1G is a 4-bid conference" talk is BS.

Purdue is currently a #1 seed in the committee's determination as of a couple days ago. Purdue is currently in 3rd place in the conference standings. Hmmm. Conference standings are MEANINGLESS in a 14 team conference when everyone does not play everyone twice.

Michigan lost a road game to Nebraska. If Michigan beats Nebraska in NY on a neutral court, who do you think the committee says is better when their RPI and SOS is higher?

Impossible to know. The team came back from down 16 with Palmer on the bench. In a normal situation, if a coach pulls a lineup that was used to come back from 16 down, he is questioned. It's worth noting, Palmer was in the lineup that got the team down 16.

I think in a way, this game may have helped get Palmer to where he is now. We'll never know. But I am not going to blame Miles on this one.

The Illinois game is the one I'm least worried about of the 3. Yes it's on the road but we match up well with Illinois, and they don't have anything to play for at this point. In the 2nd half of their game against PSU, they pretty much just gave up. I think they just want the season to be over at this point.

Penn State has been playing very well lately, and if they still play Ohio State, Purdue, and Michigan before us. If they can win a couple of those games, they could also be playing for an NCAA birth.

Agree on Illinois. They played us close here but they still had some hope of turning around their season at that point. As it is, they've lost 9 of 11 and look to be cooked. No road win is easy but we'll never have an easier opportunity to get a W in Champaign.

Penn State is by far the toughest game we have left imo. But as you pointed out, their schedule is brutal down the stretch. There's a good chance they will be fairly worn down physically and mentally at that point, especially if they go 1-2 or 0-3 over their next three.

Many said the same thing about John Groce after he took Ohio to a Sweet 16. And Bruce Weber after he took Southern Illinois to a Sweet 16.

Underwood hasn't proven anything at this level. I remember when everyone said Shaka Smart would own the Big 12.

The KU game, the Creighton game, and the Ohio State game - all games where NU was tied or had the lead late, but couldn't finish. Any one of the 3 makes a massive difference.

NU may get another shot at the Buckeyes at MSG - it may be required to get in.

Not arguing with the bigger point, but I don't think KU is winning the Big 12 this year.
