Coach Frost says he isn't here to win February. He's here to win football games in the fall. How refreshing.

(Before idiots fly off the handle, it doesn't mean we don't care about recruiting, it just means that recruiting doesn't matter as much as actual success in the fall, as I think many people forgot these past few years, as evidenced by our fears of firing Riley simply because of who he had committed.)

100% correct sir. The usual crowd, as always, had their MR excuses all lined up. But they'll get over it somehow.

I don't remember where I saw it, but sounds like Frost is tempering expectations for this first year. Sounds like his initial assessment of the team is further off than what he expects. Specifically mentioned offensive linemen who have talent but need to reshape their bodies. Sounds like his assessment of our DBs was pretty rough as well.

I think this guy knows where the talent deficiencies are and is doing what we can to turn that around. That said, I wouldn't run to Vegas to place a bet on the Huskers winning the National Championship next season. PS, I was just there and the odds were 200-1.

In 2 months on the job, we signed a better class than any of Riley’s 3 years!

In the press conference, he said the current OL talent is good, but their conditioning is bad. He specifically mentioned getting stronger, losing body fat, and eating better. He seems to think this group can improve pretty quickly if they make up their minds to do it.

I read player interviews, from this season, about current players eating fast food regularly during the season. Back in the early to mid 90's, I played HS football with a few guys that went on to play for the Huskers. Guys like Jason and Christian Peter would throw their teammate's plates in the garbage if they didn't walk the line regarding diet.

It shouldn't take an 18-20 year old a year and a half to "re-shape" their bodies. Give em to me for a summer and I'll "reshape" their bodies on the ranch in about 8 weeks.Winking IF they're dedicated and motivated they can make tremendous strides over the next 6 months.

If shape is a major problem and I think it is. That can be corrected easily before Fall camp. From all indications and having Duvall, that will not be a problem anymore by the time the 2018 opener kicks off!

Seems like you keep looking for a fight where there isn't any to be had.

With that being said... Way to go Frost & Co and keep up the great work!

It is not the fact of getting into shape it is the change in mentality required to do so that may take some time

Clearly Riley's philosophy of self and peer motivation didn't work at NU. We've been a mess in strength and conditioning long before MR got here. We'll see what happens in about 7 months from now.
