This one is an interesting one. Nebraska comes off a week rest and squares off in Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Gophers, a team coming off of 5 straight losses looking to right their ship.

Will the Huskers look rested and sharp after the week off or will there be a bit of rust after not playing against competition for the past 8 days?

Time will tell. Personally, the Huskers have been so good, in particular to the Husker bettors, I'd keep riding them until they show otherwise.

This game represents another chance to pick up a road win and to continue to bolster the NCAA chances. I've seen that the Huskers are moving up in the eyes of some analysts, recently seen as the first four out.

Hopefully they come ready to play.

Need to get one more on the road IMO barring an upset at home. I feel better about our chances at Minnesota than I do vs the Illini.

Ken Pom has 6 B1G teams in. With Maryland and Penn State being 2. If we beat them, and the ones we should, it will all turn out good

Not that Bracketology means all that much at this point, but last night Joe Lunardi had Nebraska in his First Four Out:
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

Right now he has only four Big Ten teams in the field, but at least he has Nebraska above Maryland. Terps have slipped into the Next Four Out.

Lunardi isn't the kind of guru he was at one point. IMO he has become lazy and all he cares about is RPI. Notice where he posted Saint Mary's due to a poorer RPI. He has 7 SEC schools in because of RPI and why are there RPI's so high? Cause they beat each-other up and have yet to have a true team come forward. IMO the one thing the SEC doesn't have is a really good basketball team. I know Auburn deserves some credit but they are not as good as the likes of Nova or Purdue.

When you look at the top 6 teams in the nation, they come out 3 conferences combined. 2 from the B1G, 2 from the Big East, and 2 from the ACC. The Big 12 is very disappointing this year, mainly cause KU is so small and they do not have the speed they had last year to get away with it. PAC 12 is a joke. And with Florida and Kentucky somewhat disappointing, which has left the door open for the rest of the scrubs in the SEC to beat stay "average" all season.

Looking at Lunardi's bracket, if it were real, Creighton would have an amazing chance at the sweet 16 there, if not the elite 8.IMO this could be one of those years the Big East and ACC really owns the tourney as it plays out. I know this board is mostly anti-Jays and anti- Big East, but it's top 6 teams are really good. All bias aside. Same with the ACC.

Anyways for NU to have a shot and the B1G to get in, the committee has to remember RPI isn't everything. RPI is too forgiving of losses in my opinion.

They need to finish the regular season strong....no more than 1 loss. It's doable.

Yeah I'm no fan of Lunardi at all. I just pointed that out because there had been several conversations recently about Nebraska not being anywhere on his radar. That changed, oddly enough, during an 8-day stretch when the Huskers did not play.

Just the next ‘must-win’ for NU. They’ve been up to the task thus far.

IMO, any remaining game they lose in the regular season adds one additional required win in the B1G tournament. Win out in the regular season, they’re probably in. Lose one, they need to make the B1G semi-final. Lose 2, they need to make the final. Lose 3, they need to win it.

Hopefully they long layoff won’t leave them sluggish tonight.

I feel like is Joe L had the Huskers in right now...that a lot of people would all of a sudden be a fan of his.

Line opened up Nebraska +1. I just checked and now we're at +4.

What's going on?

Asking the Huskers to finish the regular season without a loss, is a big ask. This would be the case of any team frankly, let alone a team on the bubble. It's not likely to happen, so I wish fans wouldn't put that kind of pressure on the team. Because when (or if) they do lose, I can already picture the posts full of negativity.

I think finishing the year with one or two more losses is most likely. Most likely, whether they finish fourth or fifth in conference, they will be matching up with Michigan in the quarterfinals. That game will be an important one because the next round is against Purdue, a likely Final Four program.

Minnesota has had 5 of their last 7 on the road and is 3-7 vs the spread their last 10. Neb is 9-1 last 10 vs the spread. If you can get 4 that is a nice line for NU especially since they are 9-2 as a dog this year. I also like the under 145 number as well, Nebraska's defense has been playing well on the road this year.

The barn is a nasty place to play...I think that is probably the only reason.
The "sharps" as they are called, are the only ones moving a line this much in a game like this. Nebraska @ Minnesota is not catching the eyes of your average bettors at 7 AM Vegas time. The big sharps, sometimes bet on computer algorithms. These computers are usually pretty good, but don't always account for a team building something special.

The movement may be enough to scare me off of a Husker bet, but it wouldn't get me to go against them.

Huskers RPI went up some this last week. Which shows he only cares about RPI

Watson made a shot! Hope he is on tonight. That would be huge for this team if he could start shooting better.

Watson again. Now we have the lead. 11-2 run since the timeout.

Well, Michigan just **** the bed against Northwestern. That doesn't help much.

It could be a blessing and a curse. It keeps Nebraska at the 4 seed, and a win tonight, we add some distance. But yes on the flip side, that's the best win on the season so far, so it hurts for them to lose that game.

What exactly does Gill provide to the lineup other than an occasional 3? Honest question. I’m not a b-ball guy. He just seems to be an offensive liability the last 5 or so games. And yes I know he just hit one....followed up by a poor 3 point miss.

I don't have an issue with him having Nebraska in the first 4 out as of now. Nebraska can't resume build much with the remaining schedule, so control what you can. Keep winning and hope for no Cinderellas in the conference tourneys.

Man. Gotta give the coaches and players for the defensive improvement during this season. Like a different team since the first handful of games.

He can stretch the floor for us and open up driving lanes. He's hitting 41% from behind the arc which is solid.
