No no no. He was a silent commit, but the staff pulled his offer for someone better.
We have never had a problem with other coaches doing that!

I have never had a problem with pulling an offer last minute. Just like I have never had a problem with a kid flipping at the last second, or a kid using a school as a placeholder. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

I don't see Tannor leaving the SEC. And I don't think JJB would be visiting A&M if he had told our coaches he was coming here.

Harold and his nut-huggers were all over this. Guess we are on the practice of pulling offers from commits now. It's the new Nebraska way. Hi HPH visitors, please wipe your chins before coming in.

Rumor has it from that other site that shall not be named that we had someone else take his spot.
Same thing I heard from a reliable poster: someone else coming on board that the coaches were surprised and pleased. Take it for whatever it's worth.

The staff was not expecting a commit to happen from the other guy. That is why Tago will sign with Oregon State. Alabama and Ohio State do this every year and so should Nebraska.
Well, of course. Now anyway

Verduzco was supposed to meet with him this week and canceled his visit last minute. Something happened.

I don't know about this. Seems like the only recruit really high on us right now is Cam Taylor. Washington is 50/50. Most of the other recruits who've visited here seem to be trending elsewhere. We have up to 7 spots left, I don't see 7 others besides Tago signing with us this week.

Yeah 50/50

It was a writer from an Auburn site that got the rumor mill rolling on Tannor/Nebraska

Have zero idea if there are legs, just letting you know where it came from

Looking at it after the fact, why would the coaches have wanted him?

He is a "project" at QB, so no way he plays in 2018 at QB.

In 2019, of Frost's QB commits, we have Adrian Martinez and Noah Vedral... along with the new 2019 QB.

Without a few injuries, how could he possibly play in 2019?

By 2020 we will have Martinez, Vedral, the 2019 QB, and the incoming 2020 QB. Unless he goes from "project" to amazing, he would basically end up as a waste of a scholarship at the QB position until he would move to LB. Amirite?

Look at all the QB recruits over the past 20 years. All had players in front of them on the depth chart when they arrived on campus. All had at least one high profile recruit in their class or within a year or two. Most were considered projects or long shots to start, yet some found their way onto the field.

Unless I'm mistaken, Tago is not a pro-style ready QB, so I'm assuming he will not be at that psn in Corvallis. We were recruiting him with the possibility of playing QB in a system that needs dual threat QBs. Either he embraced the defensive side of the ball and saw the Beavers as his quickest route to the 2-deep, objectively wanted to be at OSU, or NU told him there was not room at the inn. Was he really a priority defensive recruit for us, or just an intriguing add to the class, but not a priority?

I never saw Tago as a QB recruit. Best fit is at ILB I think. His film is a lot of rainbow balls and him just running through smaller kids. Not saying it's impossible he can be a good college QB but it would surprise me.

Too many people on this thread thinking of him as a QB recruit. He was a LB recruit.

This narrows down what recruiting is about in the final days, best man wins when the music is over! Bravo!
