The neat thing about this, is that he could end up being a “two-fer”. Solid safety that plays qb at an ok level. Tony Veland type player

As far as walk-ons go, if any of you are feeling pretty salty and still have athletic eligibility...

Seems like every walk-on has been called a "preferred" walk-on. Are there walk-ons we don't prefer? I wonder how they feel.
I don't know how they feel, but I think they have to pass through a try-out.

Looks like he had an offer from Navy, but we got him to walk on, paying out of state tuition. Heck of a get.

I feel very confident that, given the opportunity, this group of 25-65 year olds will no doubt yield a very strong college football team capable of championship level play. Don't believe me? Just start a thread about the scholarship players bench and 40 times, and just watch how much more impressive our stats are than the guys, you know, that are actually playing.

Covered in a couple of other threads last week that preferred does not mean guaranteed 105 practice squad position.
Ok, thanks. I remembered seeing this at one time, guess it was fake news. So does preferred actually mean anything?

Preferred DOES NOT mean you are part of the 105- as a number have said is true. I know what it means from a couple of former players of mine who were preferred walk ons.
At NU- preferred means you didnt have to try out and are on the team
