Tough loss on the road to Ohio State. But while fans are sulking, the team must pick themselves up to compete against an improving Rutgers squad.

The experts have Nebraska as a very slight favorite in this matchup. This is definitely a game both squads feel they can win.

I’m a bit cautious of tired legs with back to back road games but the good news is that the team went straight from Columbus to New Jersey.

I’m going to keep riding the Huskers in a hard fought game. Nebraska wins by 4.

I think the Huskers are playing to well defensively right now too let up the intensity vs. Rutgers.

Are fans really sulking, or is this just the daily Johnny SuperFan finger wagging?

Win or lose tonight, I'm guessing Pinnacle Back Arena will be full for Saturday's game against Iowa. Are there a lot of college basketball teams sitting at sixth place in their conference who can host the second-to-last-place team and still draw 15,000+ fans? I would love to see that list.

Yeah this seems like a pivotal game. Lose, I could see the season going downhill. Win, I could see us making a run like we did in 2014.

Nebraska’s path to the NCAA tournament will have to be built on the quantity of wins because the quality just isn’t going to be there. NU may need to win out and get one or two wins in the B1G to get the attention of the committee. There may be room for 1 loss, perhaps 2 - but this isn’t one of them. This is absolutely a must-win for NU.

Why is the line moving so much? Even though I'd be gaining value by the line moving in my favor (because I'm a homer and like Nebraska to cover), the big line move has me worried.

Not sure...6pm games will get more action early in the day I would imagine. So that could be moving it...also the Huskers are bad on the road. I really don't know. It is not like this is some big match up that people would be caring about.

I also get scared by line movement. I was happy to see the Huskers open as a slight favorite but the move to a 2 point dog makes me uncomfortable.

I’d still take my chances with this Husker team. They are deeper and more talented. But if things don’t get off to a good start this could be a loser.

I'm not so concerned with tired legs, as I am with the inconsistency in shooting - and therefore generating enough offense. When the Huskers were playing better offensively ("making shots") they had several guys step up and contribute in that 8-12 point range, when one guy had 15+ points. Not always the same guys, but enough of them that a defense had to focus on everyone. Opens things up so much better. Palmer getting 34 on Monday was nothing short of stupendous considering the inconsistency from the other "go to" guys in Watson and Copeland. If those 3 can get it going in the same game, Gill and Roby can get better looks as well. That is 5 guys that can get enough scoring to win most games. Then Allen, Taylor and Jordy can contribute a couple of buckets when the focus is elsewhere.

from a betting standpoint, I am not asking him to win the road game, I am simply asking him to not lose by more than 3
I haven't bet (yet), but Nebraska has been a solid cover team this year. From a standings perspective, Rutgers is sitting alone in 12th place with a 2-6 in conference record. Nebraska, on the other hand is sitting in 6th place with a 5-4 record. Rutgers does like to muck up a game quite a bit as they give up only 62 points a game where as Nebraska gives up 69 per game.

Other than the Illinois debacle Nebraska has done very well ATS this year.

Jordy should not be playing unless we're in major foul trouble. I don't know why we keep trying to give him the ball in the post.

Just give the ball to Palmer and clear everyone else out.

Can JT keep from getting a 3rd foul for a few minutes?

Even when he’s on the bench I get worried he’s gonna step on the court and just go falling into a defender for no reason whatsoever

These refs calling BS on both sides
There should probably be a rule for the rest of the year that we can’t complain about the refs unless someone from the Huskers can hit a simple jump shot.......or even a baby hook from 3 feet.

Palmer becoming much better at setting up his teammates. Good to see, because defenses will be keying on him more and more all the time.

Sweet were ahead of last game. 2 players in double figures. 22 of 27 points, by Palmer/Copeland

Starting to worry that Palmer will pull a Petteway after this year and go play pro somewhere. Or pull an Andrew White and grad transfer. He is the real deal. I wish someone would give him some help on offense.

With Nebraska's luck, I'm surprised that 3 for Rutgers didn't go in.

Helps that he's only 21, so he may not feel as much urgency to start getting paid. Wasn't Petteway 23 or 24 when he finished at NU?
