Welcome

So does this mean we are done recruiting DE's, because I was really excited to still be in it with Daniel Carson

Wildeman and Rogers both look like prototype DE’s, but Carson is too good to pass on, right?

Welcome to the Huskers! I just have to ask about the profile picture on the front page. Does that say "Winged Beavers" on his jersey?

Welcome aboard! GBR!

Apparently there are reasons that the coaches are pushing back visits and making new offers.

Joiner decided to stay with Sumlin.

A Sam M factoid on Rogers: unlike the current Prez, Rogers has "giant hands".

From OWH:
Avon (Connecticut) Old Farms defensive end Casey Rogers committed to Nebraska. Three quick takes on his decision:

» The best of Nebraska’s current front-seven recruits? Given that Rogers is a four-year player while linebacker Will Honas is at Nebraska for only two years, it’s possible, yes. Rogers, 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, is a high-level defensive end with giant hands and above-average athleticism who perfectly fits the Big Ten mold. While Rogers, a year out of high school, is theoretically “closer” to his ceiling than a high school kid, it makes no difference; consider it a redshirt year. In his 20-minute Hudl film, Rogers looks a player annually on Wisconsin’s roster. This is a great find.

» And Rogers is a “find.” He was originally set to play lacrosse at Syracuse — where his dad is an assistant lacrosse coach — before switching, late in the process, to pursuing college football. He apparently turned down a scholarship offer from West Virginia at the end of the 2017 recruiting cycle to head to prep school, out of which he’s emerged with more offers. Nebraska is looking for players wherever it can find them.

» Nebraska’s back on the East Coast. The Huskers struggled to land players from New England and the Atlantic Seaboard for many years. But it’s an underrated part of the college football landscape. Programs like Boston College, Connecticut and Syracuse don’t always have good teams, but they generally have two or three players that could fit on any roster. The key is finding them. In Rogers, Nebraska probably has.

We just swapped class rankings with Iowa according to 247. Up to #34 and Iowa falls to #36. Love it!

This kid actually does what you need to do in college football- take on blocks, Carson does not- he is a HS DE who does a lot of unsound things to avoid blocks. Can it be taught? Yes, but not always- some kids enjoy being physical, some dont

Good class, but would like to see better team offers for a fair number of our recruits. Oh well, next year we will hopefully be able to improve on what has been a decent, but not stellar class.
