Other football staffers announced as well, click here for the article which includes staff info.
What’s your gut tell you, good hire, ok, so-so? I know he’s a former player, and that might bring some “oh brother” responses from some, but I would give his being hired the benefit of the doubt.

I say it is great, played in the league and SF likes him.
Rudd seems like a pretty sharp person, I’m ok with his hire. It’s not like he doesn’t know any of the staff and would have some 1st year adjustments to overcome.

He helped UCF go undefeated and Frost wanted him, so apparently it is a good hire! He got Honas, so there is that.

Like any assistant, we will wait and see. Hopefully they all kick butt on the recruiting trail and on the practice field.

Cue the post bitching about his lack of coaching experience in 5...4...3...
Any coach that has a school record with nearly 100 more career tackles than any player at their school (let alone Nebraska), and who was on staff at an undefeated Division 1 program will be fine by me.

It's not like he was coaching JUCO in upper Michigan or something

Well "the some" are SOL. Frost is the coach and Miles isn't getting fired.

He beat out Iowa, Wisconsin and home state Kansas State for Honas so I'm anxious to see how he does on the recruiting trail. Knocking out 2 division teams, with tons of success from the LB position, for someone like Honas has me hopeful.

Zero worries about coaching. Probably some homerism in that part, ha.
