Glad to see you got "light beer" on there! OK, I suppose I am a beer snob. (In the house I currently have Bell's Two Hearted Ale (a staple), Lagunitas' Little Sumpin, and Pilsner Urquell.) But whenever the buddies and I get together to go fishing and floating during the summer, I always make sure to bring two types of beer. Something tasty to enjoy while sitting around the campfire after a long, hard day of fishing. And what I have affectionately referred to for years as "river swill," some commercial "light" beer to keep us hydrated on the water and help us cope with the inevitable midday lull.

If it ain't American lite beer brewed for the masses, I got no interest. I go on cycling vacations with my buddies who all like that custom crap, and every time we go into a brewery and after everyone orders, I always ask the server "What do you have that tastes like Bud Lite", they usually replay, "Bud Lite"....... "Great, I'll take the tallest one ya got".

Not that I subscribe to this thinking but one of the larger brewers of the “custom crap“ makes their living on insulting the Budweiser’s of the world. Here is what they have to say

They then go on to insult you before you even try their beer.

I personally like all kinds of beer. Everything for Coors Lite to the darkest of the porters and stouts. (and everything in between) It all depend of what I’m eating. Also keep in mind that Craft beer is the fastest growing segment of the beer market and the big 3 breweries are losing more share to it every year as people try it and expand their very narrow idea of what beer is.

Cheers!

Thank God. There is actually someone else on this board that doesn’t drink beer like they are wine-tasting or trying to discover the next local band that will make the big-time.

Old Rasputin has been a longtime favorite. Imperial Stouts will completely change your idea of what beer can be.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned DeLeon's yet! Some great memories from college...

Can't say I'm much for beer in general, more of a bourbon/scotch guy myself. If it has to be non-liquor, I usually end up with Strongbow Cider or some form of Guinness. I know, not a beer guy but I like Guinness, I'm wierd, guess I just want something you can actually taste.
