I have acknowledged UCF as National Champions for this season. Hope everybody hops on the train and sticks it to the NCAA.
That’s funny as hell. I like it. Wonder if Urban Meyer, Paul Chryst, James Franklin are on the horn right now printing up banners and asking for their natty title bonuses.

Tough to argue with this, and I am a SEC homer.
UCF didn't just "fluke" beat Auburn, they dominated.
Frost really coached up that secondary in the bowl season, or I should say, the UCF secondary improved tremendously from the last game to The Peach Bowl.
Probably the best Non-Power 5 team ever. Boise was pretty good, but needed a lot of trickeration to beat OU. UCF just lined up and won.

They didn’t have to buy their own trophy or buy their own rings they legitimately earned them. I have lost all respect for the UCF program for pulling this stunt.

Natty rings are not given out by the ncaa. The school buys them. They are allowed a set amount for conference championships and National Championship for gifts. ie:rings.

FWIW one national poll had UCF as their #1 team before the bowl game and yes it is recognized and included in the Bowl Championship committee's rankings.

The way the secondary performed really surprised me. That was our major weakness the last several games. Probably a combination of rest and coaching adjustments. Chin came through.
I respect your opinion, but now respect UCF even more for what the are doing. I think its Great. IMO, they have a good logical argument to say why they are the National Champions.
I loved how they drove a stake in the ground and made a commitment to recognize their Team, Fans Alumni and University with this accomplishment.

That and the way the DT/DE performed. Pittman and Hill will see the NFL. Allowed UCF to drop into coverage, just like Auburn game planned. Except UCF had more push up-front.
Getting a big push from 3/4 upfront is the key to winning at an elite level. This is why pass rushing DE are so big in the NFL.

I have stated in the past UCF has a spectacular season, but you just can't have your own parade and by yourself a trophy and rings and say that's that.

Why not? The playoff committee is not something sanctioned by the NCAA and by their own admission they stated they don't have any hard rules for choosing who is in the playoffs. Sometimes it's this and sometimes it's that. If that doesn't sound like a bogus system nothing does. UCF 2018 National Champions.
Works for me. If someone wants to set up a system to declare a national champion, it should have some criteria other than “we put some people in a room and come out later with 4 teams they liked”.

A lot of schools, like Iowa, have claimed NC’s using the “someone, somewhere had us #1”. If Nebraska counted titles like Alabama, etc we would have 13 instead of the 5 we currently count. I don’t like counting titles like that, but UCF is hardly the first to do it.

Overall record in 2015 was 12-2 and didn’t win a championship of any kind.
And you awarded them rings.
